Had my op yesterday, no doctor came to see me before i came home so all i know is whats on my discharge note that the nurse read to me, its states that my ovaries and tubes appear to be ok, it says that there was no evidence of dye spill from either tube (what does that mean) it also states that i had fitz hugh adhesions found, havent a clue what that means either. I'm currently in alot of pain and discomfort especially gas pain, and can't stop going for a wee!!! Xxxx

I'm not sure hun. It sounds very odd if your tubes look ok but no spill doesn't make sense to me. Try ringing your gp in next couple days and see if they van explain to your probably better off booking phone appointment with them. How you feeling? Xx

I aready have an appointment with my Gp on thursday but going to ring up on monday now. I know from speaking to other people, they have had healthy looking tubes but have been found to be blocked after a dye test! So annoyed that nobody spoke to me yesterday zx

I was surprised by the pain I had after mine as well. It will get better. Make sure you don't do too much and take the time you need off work xx

Bless you. Apparently the rule of thumb is that you should feel a little better each day. If you don't then you should get checked out as you may have an infection xx

I do feel better today than yesterday, i've managed to get out of bed on my own and i couldn't do that yesterday! The pains not as bad, so i'm sure i'm going in the right direction, my belly button is the most painful bit xx

I got off lightly with those. Move your arms gently like you are doing front crawl and that should help to shift them.

Ohh thank you i will do! How long after was it until you took off your dressings on your stitches? X

I left my belly button one on for four days but then the gp pointed out that I was slightly allergic to the dressing and it was making things worse! I think a couple of days would have been fine. I was also too cautious with not getting the stitches wet and they didn't dissolve so I think generally you should be ok to shower normally after three or four days.

Okay! I've not been given any spare dressings and my belly button one is all bloody, so didn't know wether to go up to my minor injuries unit and get then to change it, the one on my bikini line is fine, or atleast the dressing looks fine!!x

I was given spares but no guidance as to how long to use them. If it's all bloody then fresh air would be better. You can always cover it with a normal plaster if you're worried about catching it some how xx

You're welcome. It's rubbish when they don't give you any guidance isn't it? You can always call nhs direct if you get worried too- save yourself a trip out if you're feeling poorly xx

I was given zilch guidance, which had annoyed me to be fair, but i was that spaced out and glad to be going home that i never even thought to ask! I think i'm going to ring the minor injuries unit up and see what they say! X

Ok so your tubes must be blocked then. Or they could have spasmed in the test. Bless ya the pain Is worse first couple days. Take it easy. Don't know what Fitz Hugh means but youve got some sort of adhesions. Xx

Just Google's Fitz Hugh adhesions. It's something to do with a rare form of pid causing adhesions. Not sure much more I'm out of it knackered. But give it a Google xx
