First follicle scan

Morning all I have my first follicle scan on Friday - I am just wondering what I should expect, it'll only be day 5 of stims (short protocol and on 150 of menopur) - this this too early to have any results? Is there anything I should be asking at this stage?? xx

Hi Pip89. This varies so much. You will probably only see 5 or 6 follicles with smaller ones behind. This scan will give them a good idea how you are responding, and whether any adjustments need to be made. Good luck! Diane

Hi Pip89 ! As DianeArnold says, its hard to say as everyone reacts differently to the medication. We just had our first follicle scan on Monday and they were measuring the size of them. They told us they need to be a min of 16mm for us to proceed to egg collection, mine were around 10-11mm so had another scan today. Had two above 16mm, most around 14mm and some 11mm. Just waiting for a call from the clinic to see what they've decided on whether we have another scan Fri or if it'll be egg collection!
