Celiac disease?

Any ladies on here have celiac disease? What were your symptoms? How did you get over it? Did you conceive when it was treated?

I’m a coeliac was diagnosed nearly 10 years ago, I’ve been told as long as it’s well controlled that alone wouldn’t stop you conceiving naturally. You can’t get over it, you have to follow a strict gluten free diet x

I was diagnosed as Coeliac 25 years ago. You can't get over it sadly. It's a life long auto immune disease and can only be controlled with diet. It can affect fertility. Generally once you are on a gluten free diet the risks of infertility lessen. They did used to say that if gluten was ingested during puberty then it can affect fertility. I know Coeliacs who have gone on to have families without any issues at all but it seems to have caused me sub fertility. I do have another auto immune disease too so that may have impacted the issue. Anyway we are currently having IVF. If you are diagnosed Coeliac (not self diagnosed) it's really important you stick to the diet all the time without fail as it's the only way to maintain your health.
