ivf chances with 1 follicle

I started my stimulation injections 10 days ago. I had a couple od scans and there is only one follicle which might be big enough. I m on 225 iu of Gonal injection. I feel very depressed. I was expecting I would have at last a few mature follicles after all of that injections I was taking. They want to collect my eggs on wednesday. What eggs??as it might be no eggs for retrieval. What chances I have with only one mature follicle. Would it not be the same like trying to conceive naturally in this case???

Sorry to hear that you're feeling depressed, it's so stressful to have to go through any of this.

It really does only take one. When I had my final scan last Saturday, I had four follicles but on EC day which was the Monday just gone, there were 11! The doctor who did the EC was shocked as was I. I'd had four scans in total and nothing much was happening, I was on 450 menopur as well.

It depends on your personal circumstances and the reasons you haven't conceived until now and it's probably only your doctor who can discuss that with you.

Thank you. I've had to freeze the 3 that fertilized because I have hydrosalpinx. They will transfer at a later date when I've had laparoscopy to clip tubes.

I didn't feel too much whilst on medication don't try not to worry to much. I had some twinges but nothing major and didn't really have side effects other than feeling tired. Xx

Have you questioned why they haven't increased your dosage? Wednesday is 5 days away and a lot can change till then lovely don't panic too much. I'm assuming u will be scanned Monday now to check on them again? Get a hot water bottle out and place on your.tummy. follicles like the heat and seem to grow better xx good luck

Yes I will have my next scan on Monday. I got told to increase my dosage by 0.25 on friday. I really don't know why they keep me so low 225. Thank you for an advice I will try the hot water bottle.

Hi did u ask them to check ur bloods for estrogen. The level of that can indicate if there are eggs aswell. I would also b querying can u increase ur dosage. I had a scan on tuesday follicles only measuring 9 -12mm. Increased dose and scan on friday showed measuring 18-22 which matched my bloods so ec goin ahead Monday, a few days of increased dosage can make a difference x

I had my blood taken twice. I really dont know why I m on such a low dosage. I was told to increase it by 0.25 on Friday so at the moment I m on 225. I will have my next scan on Monday. I feel nothing is happening in my body, no side effects. I simply feel that my body is not responding to the injections. Doctor told me she only could see one follicle which was big enough. It was good to have at least 3 but they would work on this one I have. I feel hopeless. This treatment is the only thing what keeps me going. I feel like this is a failure already not even the half way through 😐

I feel the exact same hun I have no side effects, I don't feel bloated at all, I have under active thyroid an I an starting to think that is why my body reacts slowly to the injections. My amh was good ado I can't c any other reason. I'm surprised your clinic isn't extending your injections a few days to c if other follicles can catch up
