Hello, I had my follicle count ultrasound yesterday and they found 10 follicles on the right side, but due to a endometrioma cyst on my left ovary the technician only found 2. Will we still be a good candidate for IVF? Has anyone had IVF with a lower follicle count?

Follicle Count & IVF?
I tend to have one ovary asleep and the other ovary working hard with approximately 7 / 8 follicles at baseline. So yes with 10 follicles I think you will be just fine and are a candidate for treatment x
hi I just wanted to give you some hope. I’ve just had egg collection this week. On my base line scan I had 3 follicles on each ovary and egg collection they retrieved 12 and 11 were mature. Still waiting to find out the end result of how many are suitable for freezing as my progesterone levels are too high for a fresh transfer but to your point 11 domiciles at base line is a good start xxx
Hi Ladybird. Ideally 15 or more in total is what they are looking for. However, they should be able to work with 12. Do you need to have the endometrioma remove before proceeding? You may do. Good luck! Diane
I think that sounds a good number! I had about the same as you at baseline and retrieved 11 eggs, 9 mature and ended up with 6 blastocysts. So fewer follicles doesn't necessarily mean fewer embryos at the end, it's only one part of it. You are less likely to overstimulate too which is good. Good luck!
