Hi ladies, this thing is telling me to introduce myself, so here goes!
39, from Derbyshire. Currently on the waiting list for a lovely lady to donate some eggs to us.
We found out after years of trying to start a family that I'd gone through the menopause, I was 37 at the time and it broke me.
But here we are 2 years down the line, 3 stone less and months of counselling behind us, we're ready and waiting!
Must admit I was 100% against having a donor at first, but I put my big girl pants on and did the research. Now am so very excited to get started on our journey.
I'll be reading through other posts about donor eggs, be nice to hear how others are getting on with it all!
Ciao for now!

Hello nice to meet u. I am from aberdeenshire 31yrs. Been ttc for 7 years now. We have just started our first round of ivf. We aren't using donors at this time. I wish you all the luck in the world. This site is fantastic everyone is lovely and all have their own heartbreak tears tantrums mood swings happiness and stories to tel. We are all here for each other xxx
It's so difficult. If one more friend says they are pregnant I might just punch them in the face 😂 It's sooo good to talk to people in the same position. The waiting feels like forever but it will all be worth it. Do they know roughly how long you will have to wait? Xxx sending u love xxx you have to keep positive and keep busy xxx
I've not even acknowledged some pregnancy announcements from friends. I know they're not being mean, but it's really not fair (as am sure you agree!)
We've been on the waiting list since Nov, and have matches BUT there's this test called CMV (it's an antibody virus thing in blood) They've all matched positive and I'm tested negative. Depending on what you read & think some say only use what you match to, some say it doesn't matter! If it wasn't hard enough already!!
What a brilliant title to introduce yourself to the forum 😊. I’d like to start saying ‘Aye up my duck’ too but I doubt I could pull it off with my accent!!
Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on losing 3 stone so you can start your journey 😀 x
Thanks duck! Well being an East Mids bird, we're all Ducks Where are you from?
Thank you, I started with Slimming World, but didn't quite work for me. So went to Weight Watches, that really work for me!! Hard thing now is keeping it off, and wanting to loose another 2 stone!! xx
Ay up me duck 😊! Something we say here in stoke too (well I'm in Newcastle under Lyme). I just want to wish you good luck! I'm certainly one of the lucky ones as I have my princess... 1st attempt at ivf. Unfortunately I had a chemical pregnancy with my second round of ivf last year but going to try again this year, I've got to lose a couple of stone first. Wishing you all the best! 😊xx
Best of luck with it all, hope you dont have to wait too long to get your donor! We had to make this tough decision too but having made it we havent looked back although still chasing a pregnancy!xx
Hey there! I m glad to see that you are heading in the right direction. Giving up is just not the option here. We have to stay strong and positive. It takes a lot of potential and hard work to become a mother. Becoming a mother is not that easy. I hope this works for you. Nothing worked out for me tho. So I went for surrogacy. If you need any help or anything related to surrogacy, I can help you. Good Luck! Much Love!
