So I need some advice - I’ve got the worst cold sore and it just wont go away. I generally suffer from coldsores and usually get one or two a year.
I used to take L-lysine vitamins from holland and barratt and found it helped keep them at bay. Since finding out I had a BFP I have been reluctant to take anything but I know coldsores are common in pregnancy and really would like to take the vitamins again as I know they help.
Does anyone know if these are safe to take as internet advice is quite conflicting!
Thank you in advance ☺️

Hiya, I really don’t have any advice I can offer you but thought perhaps you could send Diane a message. She should be able to advise you on what you can or can’t take. Hope you get sorted xx
I’ve already messaged Diane and she advised that they should be safe to take but to talk to my midwife about my concerns incase my immune system is low.
Sorry I can’t answer you but as a frequent sufferer of the horrid virus I am sending you my sympathies and also congrats on your bfp!!! I have a light thing from boots.,, you press a button and it sends some sort of light that increases your antibodies in your lips. I find it amazing but again don’t know if it’s safe to use during pregnancy! Xxx
I’m super intrigued by this light thing! I’ve never heard of that before. I shall do some googling and see if I can find out more about it. Hopefully it’s safe to use 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Congrats on your BFP too! Wishing you lots of luck in your pregnancy xx
I couldn’t find it in boots anymore, I think they’ve discontinued it 😭 that amazon one was all I could find too.
Apparently there is a a similar one you can get from a pharmacy. No idea if you can get it via doctors but from what I can find online it’s considered a safe non medicated way to treat coldsores! Xx
They are very good. If you have one it takes all the tingle away and makes it go quicker. if you don’t but feel one coming and use it they usually don’t come or if they do they are very small! xxx def worth it!! Xx
