My luteal phase usually is 11 days but occasionally can be longer, so would my day 21 bloods be due 7days after I ovulated or 7 days before my period is due? I’m confused and don’t want to get it wrong!

Day 21 bloods, is it 7 days after ovulation or 7 days before your period??
Hi chick it's 7 days after you ovulated or 21 day of your cycle if you have a regular 28 day cycle hope this helps kim xxx
It’s 21 days after you start your period, which for most women is 7 days after ovulation, or thereabouts!
I normally ovulate day 20 so my day 21 would be day 27 but as my luteal phase is 11 days my cycle is normally 31 days, that’s if my luteal phase decides to stay at 11 and not go over! I just really don’t want To get it wrong and want an accurate result!
7 days post ovulation. If you ovulated on Tuesday and have the bloods booked for Monday you'll be fine, doesn't matter if your luteal phase is a bit longer this time. Good luck with the tests and results x
Hi. Sorry to disagree with views above, but here is my view as a GP. I explain it is called 'day 21' bloods but that is if your cycle is a perfect 28 days, and what we want is '7 days before end of cycle', so day 24 of 31 day cycle. I have just checked my online GP reference and it says I am correct. If ladies are a little irregular, we sometimes decide to do bloods on a few occasions around what we think will be 7 days before end of cycle. Then note what day your period started to help decide which was nearest or on the right date. Best wishes x
If you are sure you know when you ovulated, the blood test is meant to be 'mid luteal phase'...but the standard advice we give is 7 days before end of cycle x
