Hi All, after our review today I have been prescribed Clomid to start in my next cycle. Just wondered if anyone could share their Clomid experiences? Side effects? Success stories? Totally green to all of this but excited to be starting the next chapter in our treatment. Love and BIG hugs to everyone ❤ xxx
Clomid experiences: Hi All, after our... - Fertility Network UK
Clomid experiences
Hey, ah so pleased you’ve been given treatment to start. I tried clomid before IVF unfortunately with no success for me but I do have 3 friends who have multiple children through clomid.
My main side affects where headaches, hot sweats/flushes and nausea but I took mine before bed so luckily the worst of them were whilst sleeping and I’d rather of woken up to soaking sheets than it happen during the day. Wishing you lots of luck xx
Thanks lovely, I plan on taking before bed also. So pleased to just get the ball rolling on things finally. Was told if Clomid doesn't work then it's IVF. Hope you're doing ok xxx
Hiya
Ihave just taking clomid this month for the first time before IVF. I have heard many success stories about it so I'm hoping some positive results too in the next month . Will update xx
I’ve been on clomid 4 months. 3 months at 50mg’s nothing. One month of 100mg’s and fell pregnant very early days but it does work.
Hello im on my second round of clomid 50mg currently trying to watch out for my ovulation day with opks. The only side effects I'm getting are mainly hot flushes day and night and minor headaches and pains on both sides where my ovaries are. I was told to take it in the evenings rather the day time but I still get hot flushes in the night. 🤞That this round works x
Hi Poppy149, I wish you the best with Clomid, clearly some people have good experiences with it! Mine was not, on the second month/cycle I developed an ovarian cyst, and a breast cyst too, and (I think as a consequence) my period disappeared for 5 months. I refused to take further drugs to get the period back, and I did not take Clomid again. Hopefully it will work for you, but if you develop an ovarian cyst, just keep in mind that apparently this could happen with Clomid (not sure about the breast cyst... but I did not have that one before). Sorry, I did not want to be pessimistic, clearly it works for other people!! Best of luck to you!!
Thanks lovely for taking the time to respond. I'm so sorry to hear you had a rough time with Clomid. I've read lots on the side effects and this is my main concern with taking the drug. I realise I have to give it a go as this is what's recommended and excited to be finally starting our treatment but a little apprehensive about how I'm going to manage with work and taking hormone pills as I had a terrible time while takig the pill (severe migraine headaches... Had to stop straight away). I hope you are doing okay now? Sending love and BIG hugs and wishing you every success with your journey ❤ xxx
Hi, we have also just been prescribed clomid to start next cycle after we sadly miscarried last month 💔 I’ve heard lots of positives so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Thanks lovely for your response. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, hope you are doing okay? I was prescribed Clomid to help boost my levels as my progesterone is too low and Consultant thinks this is affecting any embryo conceived from 'sticking'. I have fingers and toes crossed that this is one step closer to helping us achieve our dream. Wishing you every success with your journey. Sending BIG hugs and let us know how you get on ❤ xxx
Don't want to overload with negative stories but I've just finished my 6 months of letrozole (similar to clomid) without success. There are so many positive stories out there, just try not to stress about it (so easy to say, not so easy to do). But in terms of side effects I didn't have anything so taking the letrozole was totally painless and it did sort of regulate my cycles which is a positive.
Best of luck to you I hope you get your BFP soon.
Thanks lovely for your response. It's so helpful hearing everyones experiences, whether positive or negative as I think it helps prepare you for all eventualities. I'm taking one day at a time and have fingers and toes crossed that I can tolerate them and they work. Wishing you every success with your journey and sending love and BIG hugs ❤ xxx
