Cyclogest

Has anyone had experience of using this not in IVF? I went to the epu today and they confirmed my second miscarriage. They suggested I tried cyclogest next time after speaking to the fertility dr but I don’t really know much about it?

All the instructions refer to egg retrieval or treating pms, so just curious if anyone else has used it who wasn’t doing IVF.

Thanks.

Hi lovely, i was given this to help lenghten my luteal phase (time between ovulation and period) they suspected mine was a little short and my progesterone was low and that was maybe why i wasnt conceiving. Progesterone helps maintain a pregnancy in the very early stages until you are 12 weeks and the placenta takes over.

Sadly it didnt work for me but a friend of mine took it until she was 12 weeks pregnant after multiple unexplained miscarriages and she is now currently 17 weeks pregnant x

Hi Binky i’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage 😢 (I’ve had more than a few myself and I know how devastating it is) Cyclogest basically supports the pregnancy and I’ve been put on it both when I was naturally pregnant and with ivf. It stopped me bleeding in my current pregnancy and can only help and sustain (obviously if the embryo is abnormal then a miscarriage is unavoidable) but I would highly recommend it x

Thanks for your replies. When did you start taking it? I was told to take it once I get a positive pregnancy test but I wondered if that was a little late. Both times I have miscarried I had only just found out I was pregnant. I’m going to speak to my fertility clinic in another week or so and double check with them.

Nice to hear success stories with it though. Sorry it didn’t work for you sunshine and sorry to hear about your miscarriages Natalia but glad you are pregnant again. X

Hi, I had to use it for a normal cycle to help me get pregnant as I was spotting WAY before my period was due. Feel free to check out my previous posts. I took it from a few days after ovulation but had to as I'd spot from 5dpo. If you don't have that problem you could probably take it a few days later than I did, but I'd also question only taking it from bfp. I took it constantly until I was 12 weeks though my dating scan made it almost 13 weeks. I then tapered down over 2 weeks. I'm now 31+3. Hope this is what you need for your little miracle. Such an easy solution to a devastating problem x
