My doctor has given my forms to have bloods taken on day of my cycle. I came on yesterday but it was about 7 in the evening and was quite light, whereas today I’m quite heavy (sorry tmi!) should I count this as day 2 or not as I came on quite late yesterday and was light?

Day 2 bloods
Hi Bella, I was informed by my clinic to only count day 1 if I came on before lunchtime. So going with that I would say today is your day 1. X
Thank you, I just don’t want to get it wrong and it be a waste of time as they don’t give them to out much do they. I’ve been waiting to get these done for 3 months now but my period/day 2 has always fallen on a Sunday or a day I have something on so can’t get the bloods taken! So would you count today as day 1 if my new cycle not yesterday (just for my chart!)x
Day one counts as the first day you wake up bleeding, that’s what my clinic told me.
If you can’t get bloods done on day 2 as it’s a Sunday you just get them done as soon as you can and they write on the test envelope the day of your cycle.
If I start in tne evening and it is tbe initial show of AF, then the next day is considered day one if the cycle....that is what my local nurse and GP has always said they view the start of the cycles.
I was told Day 1 is the first day your flow is heavy enough to require you to use protection (though the conversation was in the context of spotting rather than time it arrives). I was also told the day 2 test can be done on Days 1-3 so I would go along Monday to get it done but just tell them when you came on so they can take that into consideration when they analyse.
