So I'm 9 wks pregnant tomorrow, I had two embryo transfer on early scan only one heartbeat was picked up and the nurse couldn't even see another sac although she said it could be hiding.
On Wednesday we went for a private scan and we saw our baby with a strong heart beat but there was also another sac yolk seen with no heartbeat. We left not disappointed because we only thought we had a singleton however both times I asked what would happen and on both occasions I was told it would just vanish into the lining.
Today I have had some pain in my tummy and slight bleeding which had now stopped. EPU won't see me till Tuesday, I'm not overly worried but wondered if anyone else has any experience of this?
Many Thanks x

We had a similar thing, we had two transferred and did have two heartbeats, sacs and fetal poles etc but one was always smaller and slower (was told quite early on it wouldnt make it) we lost the little one at about 9 weeks and was just absorbed into my lining etc with no probs. I am now 28weeks with our fighter so try not to worry xxx
Thank you and congratulations. Did you ever experience any spotting I've had some today not much but wondered if this could be as a result of the sac not developing. X
I did have bleeding for 3 weeks from wk 6-9 (see my old posts) but they always said it wasn’t related to the loss and it’s very common to bleed in early pregnancy (I know that won’t stop you worrying) xx
I suppose I never expected to bleed I'll have a look at your posts now. I'm calm because I went for a private scan on Wednesday and I tell telling myself everything is ok and there is s potential explanation for this bleed. Thank you x
I had the same. Scan at 8 weeks showed one baby with a heartbeat and one empty 6 week sac. It was absorbed and caused no issue at all, and I went on to have a healthy live birth.
All the best, it is rather common to try not to worry. Keep us updated on your pregnancy. xx
We had twins and I lost my second baby at 9 weeks. It got reabsorbed back into my lining and apparently that can cause cramps and light bleeding (it did with me). At 12 week scan the sac was all gone and just my one baby left. I had her in December and she is happy and healthy so it won't affect your remaining baby. Sadly this happens all the time just non IVF ladies rarely know because they don't get a scan until 12 weeks when the sac is usually gone. I found it quite hard to get over for a while, I still felt the loss of that other baby but as you see your other little one grow you learn to enjoy it all still, even if you always remember the other one that wasn't to be.
