*sensitive* first 6-week scan showed yolk sac, possible heartbeat?

Hi! So we had our first ultrasound appointment today and I guess I felt a little disappointed since we didn't really even see a blob. There was something that the doctor said *could* be the heartbeat, but could also have been my heartbeat. However we saw the gestational sac, and the yolk sac. We're going back again in twelve days.

Not really sure how to take this. I am exactly 6 weeks today. I'm worried that he did not see the embryo, is that bad????

Don’t worry hun it is normal not to see the heartbeat at this stage. Good luck and I hope you all the best.

I think 6 weeks Is pretty early in terms of seeing a heartbeat so don’t panic .. keeping everything crossed for your next scan x

I wouldn’t worry it’s early to see a heartbeat, however it’s good news if both gestational and yolk sac are seen! Try to keep calm hun ❤️I know it’s not easy xx

It’s still really early, when I had my first scan at around 5w4 I barely saw anything and what I could see looked like the tiniest little shrimp, even when she zoomed in. I know it’s hard but what has been seen so far are definitely positive signs 🤞🏽 And I have everything crossed for your next scan.

If you are feeling anxious you can go for a private scan in a weeks time if you are able to? But otherwise try and keep busy (I know it’s tough!) definitely good signs so far though Xx

Not to worry, I was the exact same. Couldn’t see anything till my 7+2 scan.

I had scans at 5+2 and 6+2 as well. 5+2 scan we only saw a gestational sac. By 6+2 the gestational sac had grown and like you - doctor showed me a flicker which could be either baby’s heartbeat or my own. He told us to come back the following week and we saw everything then with a strong heartbeat.
