Hi I’m so grateful to have made it to my 1st scan today at 6 weeks +5 days but I’m only measuring at 6 weeks so I’m 5 days behind 🥺 and the dr seemed quite worried as the yolk sac was quite big…. But then said she wish she hadn’t said anything and for me not to worry but obviously everything is a worry!! 😫 has anyone had anything like this? Xx

Hi. Not sure about the yolk sac but in terms of being 5 days behind, my clinic said that they would only be worried if measurements were a week or more 'off'. I was a few days behind too and so understand the worry. Are they re-scanning you? X

Hey lovely,

I don’t have any experience with the yolk sac but I was measuring 5 days behind at my viability scan as well (should have been 7 but was measuring 6+2). I had a follow up scan 9 days later and baby had caught up and was measuring bang on. As previous poster said, I was told same by my clinic that anything less than a week was nothing to worry about.

Were they able to see a heartbeat yet or was it too small? Have they offered a second scan?x

Yeah we seen the heartbeat they wouldn’t let me hear it or tell me how many beats per minute or anything but definitely could see it flickering 🥰 I have a scan in 10 days time so I will be 8 weeks + 1 so hopefully baby catches up. Did you do anything different during your 9 days that you thought helped? Xxx

Heartbeat is a great sign! They didn’t measure mine either as was too small so that’s normal. Honestly no, just try and keep yourself busy. You are pregnant and there is nothing to say it will be anything but good news in 10 days. Focus on that little heartbeat ♥️ Xxx

I agree with the comments above. My clinic said they are only concerned if measuring a week behind. We were measuring 3 days behind. By 12 weeks just 1 day behind. Try to relax, easier said than done I know xxx

I had a scan a 6 weeks 2 days and one babe was measuring 6 weeks 3 days and one was 5 weeks 4 days. They weren’t concerned at all and said at that point they’re so tiny and the scans cannot get an accurate reading always. Just saw the flickering heartbeats too! Had a scan at 7+4 and they didn’t even give me measurements just said they were fine and were only rechecking to ensure there was 2 and not 3 babies.

Had a 10 week scan on Monday and babies were measuring 10+2 and 10+4 so caught up and then some!

Try not to worry too much lovely I know it’s hard, I posted about the measurements and all the responses were positive have a look!

They didn’t comment on my yolk sacs but on the scans they looked huge compared to the babies at the time! X

I was measuring 3 days behind at my early scans, 1 day behind by 9 weeks, same at 13 weeks then right on track by 20 weeks. My clinic had said +/- a week is fine at early scans x
