Baseline scan and blood test - 2nd round for EC

Hi all

So the consultant phoned me to say that he wanted to try something new for the 2nd round of EC. Now this floored me because I naively thought that there was only one way to mature eggs in follicles. He also mentioned that I was to have the new baseline scan and blood test on my first or second day of my next cycle.....(TMI) but I will be bleeding, how can a scan be done whilst you are bleeding?? maybe I have been sheltered all my life but scans have always been done mid cycle??? Anybody experienced anything like this before??

Hi Yammie, nothing is TMI on here Lol! I presume they want to get the picture at the beginning of your cycle so this is common practice for staff that perform these scans. I know its not a particlarly pleasant thought however the staff will be perfectly used to it!xx

Hi,

I have had a scan on my 2nd day of period. I was surprised too, but I had one done and it was fine. I wasn't bleeding too heavily, so wasn't too bad.

I had a scan on day 3 of my cycle before for fresh cycle and again for my FET on day 5 and although a bit yukky wasn’t as bad as I was expecting x

I’ve had one during af too. It’s embarrassing but I’m sure they’re used to it xx

Hi I had to have a scan on day 2 of period. Its a little embarrassing but they do it all the time xxx

Thanks all. So I am not quite as crazy as I thought....good to know. Consultant now told me to wait till January AF as the labs etc. are closed over the festive period. At least it gives me time to build my body up supplements again i.e. micronized DHEA (already taking), pregnapure, ubiquinol etc
