2nd Round EC Tuesday!

Had the call yesterday afternoon following my progress scan in the morning to say that they want me in for EC on Tuesday! We were expecting it to be Thursday based on our previous round, but it seems things are progressing more quickly this time. I think maybe the week in Devon we’ve just had has helped - lots of relaxation, good food and fresh air and no work!

We’ve got what looks like a promising batch of 11 on the right and 5 on the left, most of them are measuring at 17 or 13, but one is a 19 already. Last time we ended up with 9 collected from similar numbers and 4 made it to 5 days. Keeping everything crossed now...

Wow! We really are cycle twins...my egg collection date has been moved from Thursday to Tuesday too! I'm so glad coz I'm getting impatient now 😂

Griffon84 - how did it go?

We got 9 eggs (same as last time).

I feel really sore this time - much worse than last time

We got 7 eggs, only 5 last time. Embryologist said they were better eggs as 6 were mature, only 3 were last time so just waiting on the call from the clinic to let us know how many have fertilised.

I really struggled with the collection this time, they couldn't get in to all the follicles coz I was in too much pain! So I'm still in quite a bit of pain now!

Fingers crossed for us both for the fertilisation xx

Sounds promising - I am so glad I was totally out of it both times under sedation, don't think I could have coped with being awake while they did that!

I've just had the call to say only 2 of ours have fertilised, and that was with ICSI. I am going to have both transferred on Friday (day 3). I am a bit gutted as last time we had 7 of the 9 fertilised and 4 made it to day 5 so we had 3 frozen.

The main point of doing a second fresh round rather than FET with our existing ones was to get some more in the bank because I am 40 and they were keen to get younger embryos. I feel like it's been a waste of time as we could have just cracked on with a couple of rounds of FET.

Anyway, need to give myself a kick up the backside and stop moping and hope these 2 are good ones!

Drs have agreed to give me general anaesthetic next time coz I just can't cope under sedation!

We've just had the call and 3 of ours fertilised, not as good as we were hoping but last time we only had one so are in a better position, just trying to stay positive! Ours was ICSI too.

You got 2 fertilised, that's still good, I just know you'll be disappointed as it's less than last time but just think, one of those little guys could turn in to your little baby 😊

You've still got some in the freezer too which is great 😁 try and stay positive, I know it's harder said than done! I always want to punch anyone who says this to me but since I'm in a similar position to you, im allowed to 😜....it only takes One!! Xx
