Baseline Scan - snow warning :(

I'm stressing out and I need someone to calm me down please.... I have my baseline scan tomorrow at 11am to start our first IVF cycle after waiting for nearly a year. My period started on Friday night and they were too busy to fit me in today. The problem is we have a weather warning in Scotland from 6pm tonight for the next couple of days for snow and I'm travelling up from the Scottish Borders to Edinburgh and I'm really worried we won't make it up. I left a message at the hospital this morning and I'm waiting on a call back. I think tomorrow will be day 5 in my cycle and I'm stressing that if we don't make it tomorrow it will be too late this month. I was hoping they may have fitted me in this afternoon but I'm guessing not as still waiting on the phone call. Wednesday would be fine wouldn't it if worst came to worst?

Is there any possible way you could travel up this afternoon and stay in a hotel or something in Edinburgh tonight? I know it’d mean extra expense but it might help relieve your stress about getting there in the morning x

Hi LauraM1986. Oh try not to worry, as I'm sure all the routes to the hospital/clinic will be well gritted beforehand. Just start out a bit earlier, and fingers crossed you get there on time. Even if you're late, others will be too. Hope scan goes well. Thinking of you. Diane

Agreed Diane, the clinic are probably used to this. I always have worries our car will break down or something on the way to some appointment or another! I am sure they have contingency measures. Best advice, leave plenty of time to get there. If the roads really are inaccessible the clinic will advise what to do. As long as DR is being followed I had the understanding that meds could be moved around slightly if necessary. Good luck Hidden xx

Bless you, you will be fine! Just think of me years ago as a midwife in my very old car. Somehow I still made it! Diane xx

Thanks ladies, I know I'm panicking over nothing. If I'm like this now I'm going to be a nightmare in a few weeks time, ha! Hubby managed to calm me down over the phone at lunchtime and has offered for us to stay up in Edinburgh tonight so going to have a look and maybe drive up at tea time. I spoke to the hospital before and we could do an appointment on Wednesday as a last resort if required. I'm just too much of a control freak and need to chill out more........ xxx
