Hi all, so Saturday was my OTD and my test was negative so for me its definitely game over until I see the consultant and we discuss the next step ... Until then I want to keep trying naturally but as I don't really know too much on ovulating ect and after looking at the apps I'm finding quite hard to understand ... So I was thinking of buying some ovulating kits to tests 😕 has anyone e ever used them and are they any good!? Do you just test them day 14 after the 1st day of your period!? I have attached a picture of what I am thinking of getting!? Thank you all in advance xx

Start testing on cd10 until you get your surge. Once you get a surge you will normally ovulate between 12/24 hours later. I will add though that the only way to confirm ovulation is by taking your temperature every morning and you should see a shift in the pattern; once you have three consecutive rises ovulation is confirmed xx
Thanks lovely, sorry I still don't really understand these short term words, what does CD10 unit and surge mean!? And what's the temperature thing!? Sorry to sound really thumb
Cycle day 10 so ten days after you get Af which is day 1. The surge is your positive ovulation kit (opk). The lines have to be as dark as each other. If your second line is lighter (test line) than the control line, it’s a negative. By yourself a basal base thermometer. Take your temperature at the same time every morning BEFORE you get out of bed. Put the temperatures into an app, like fertility friend and you should see the three day temperature rise around the middle of your cycle (if you have ovulated) and that along with the positive opk will confirm ovulation has taken place xx
Hi ladyc83, I tried the cheap ovulation sticks when I first discovered that there was such thing but if you are new to all this I recommend clearblue either pink or purple packs - with smiley faces. With cheap tests I spent lots of time wondering about results and was getting frustrated and didn't trust my opinion. With clearblue the result is there for you.
And definitely recommend taking basal temperature. The app I like most is called NaturalCycles.
Now here is the thing.. ovulation can occur at the beginning of a cycle in one month..but it occur at a different time the following month.
Ovulation kit cannot confirm ovulation but basal temperature can.
Hope this helps.
Lots of people say clear blue but they are pricey. I use cheap ones and they seem ok but then at crucial times or if I’m unsure, I have a stash of clear blue ones too x
Thank you Leesara for the info how many would you use in 1 month x
I use the One Step brand you can get online and save a small fortune - it can get expensive! The Fertility Friend app is good too. Loads of useful tips and helps you to chart your cycle.
