Ladies a question for any of u unfortunate enough to have suffered a chemical pregnancy. Was your period late the following month and was your cycle all out of the normal? I had a cp on 23rd march. I did ovulating strips after this from day 9 to 20 an didn't show i ovulated even though I had ovulating symptoms. Now today is day 36 an still no sign of period.... we want to start a fresh icsi cycle again next month but thinking I shud wait until my period is back in normal cycle. Thoughts?

Hi sorry to hear about your cp it’s a horrible feeling isn’t it!! So close but yet still so far away! I had a chemical pregnancy on the 3rd of April!! I went back to my consultant on Monday and he’s told us we have to wait two cycles!! So now I have to monitor ovulation to see if we can do a natural transfer or it will be a medicated one!! Funnily enough when I came back from the hospital I knew I was ovulating so I did a test!! It came up with two lines so I hoping my period won’t be far away!!!

Have you been told you can do your frozen straight away??? Xx

Unfort we didn't have any frozen. We only got 6 eggs , 3 fertilsed, one transferred an none to freeze :-( we had our review on Wed an he didn't mention how long we had to wait. I'm just worried cause on day 36

Ah sorry to hear that!! We only got one frozen!! So lots of hope for next time!!

I think I’ve heard it can sometimes take a while for your body to get back to normal, maybe that’s why it’s not showing you’ve ovulated abs late period!! I was hoping we could just carry straight on but we’ve to wait, but if that’s what’s needed then we’ll do anything to improve our chances xxx

In your last round what stimms etc were u on? I was on bemfola but thinking of changing to menopur next cycle or a short protocol using the flare.

I tried using ovulation tests the first period after my miscarriage and I didn’t see a lh surge till 2 periods post miscarriage ; mine was also a CP. The instructions on my ovulation advise against testing till you are at least 2 periods post mc. I think the mc can affect the results and aren’t as reliable.

Is there any chance you could have conceived between the now?

My personal experience was my period arrived bang on day 28 after my CP and was very heavy but I have endometriosis so who knows if it was the miscarriage aftermath or my endometriosis. xoxo

Hi Jess, I was hoping that but I did a test this evening an unfort even tho expected it was negative. This is my second cp an the first time it was bang on time the following month aswell, 30 days... which is normal for me. I duno what's diff this time but I may just b patient an sit it out, I worry about my age il b 36 in may an I just want to get back on trying again asap.

in reply toLittleflower82

Could it be that the test may not show in the evening; I think if needs to be with first urine of the day. Also the type of test will affect results; use a sensitive test like clear blue conception pregnancy test.

I’m 36 will be 37 in six months 😱it’s not that old to conceive try not to worry you still have plenty of time on your side.

I’m so sorry you have suffered two how devastating. xoxo

I did use a clear blue this evening, well I will test again if not here on Sunday morning as I'm supposed to meeting friends for drinks so I want to b double sure. Ah thanks i know I prob am ok age wise but just wen I'm a slow responder and get little eggs I worry as time goes on xx

Of course you I think we all worry. But lots of people are having children later in life.

It must be incredibly frustrating; being stuck in limbo is the worst feeling. I dread that time before AF is due that am I am not. Like you said you need to know either way so you can move forwards.

I hope you get your answer soon be so happy for you if it was a positive test. 😍 if have heard of couples conceiving straight away after a miscarriage it can happen ❤️ xoxo

Hello Littleflower82 😊 I’m sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancies, I have also had 2 and found them utterly heartbreaking 💔 Sending you big hugs xx

My first CP period arrived on time. However on my 2nd CP it took 6 weeks and 6 days for my period to come & I continued to test positive on the hpt for 2 weeks after OTD. Just seemed to take ages for hcg to clear out of my system & I definitely didn’t ovulate before the bleed. However I did ovulate the very next cycle & fell pregnant naturally!! (I’m now 7+1 & just had my 37th birthday). I’m so scared something will go wrong, but the fact we got this far through natural conception feels like a miracle in itself!

I’ll have my fingers crossed for you 🌈 xxx

After my cp I showed ovulation signs for about 10 days before getting a positive ovulation test. Despite previously ovulating around day 15, I must've ovulated about day 23 on that cycle. I had a slightly longer luteal phase with that cycle and a light period. My cp was really early, I wouldn't have known unless I'd been on treatment. I would agree with the others about waiting 2 cycles before another round of treatment. Doesn't mean you can't try naturally next month. Between the meds for stimulation and the hormones from the cp, you may just be one of the lucky few who find they have increased fertility following such a heartbreaking experience. X

Hi there, I am sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancies. It is very hard when you have the initial excitement, only to have your hopes dashed. I have had a couple, so can relate to how you are feeling. My periods varied from being a few days late to taking 6 weeks to come after my chemical pregnancies. We actually went for a round of IVF after the second and just had to wait for that period. I do wonder if it was all too soon though, as that round wasn't very successful. As frustrating as it is, I think this whole process has taught me that we just have to go with our bodies (although I always remember wanting it to be doing something it wasn't and it never seemed to play ball with me!)

Wishing you lots of luck xxx

I’m so sorry to hear this, I’ve had 2 with ivf and 1 natural pregnancy cp which I wasn’t aware of at all. My period was late...cycle day 40 I started to bleed. I wasn’t told to wait and proceeded with an FET the cycle after xxx
