Has anyone gone through IVF been triggered using Buserelin (instead of the usual hCg)?
Apparently it's for people at risk of OHSS. It's really good at preventing OHSS but i also read chance of success is slightly lower... so just wondering if anyone has any stories (both positive or negative) using this trigger.
Thanks

Hi abcgirl. The hCG injection causes the reaction needed to release eggs into the follicles ready for egg collection. It is also an extra stimulation which may increase the risk of OHSS. Buserelin can be used to cause the reaction needed prior to egg collection, instead of the HCG injection but without the risk of further ovarian stimulation. You may still need to have a very small dose of hCG to reverse the negative effect of Buserelin. Try not to worry, they will look after you. After all they want it to work for you too. Good luck! Diane
