I hope my post doesn't upset anyone. recently i have read so many positive posts on here with bfp after bfp and it is so fabulous and heartwarming π but what concerns me is very few, if any of these positives are from ladies that it is their partner has the sperm issue? I thought going onto this it should work for me as everything with me was working perfectly. Hubby has low sc but honestly I haven't read ( hopefully iv missed them) any positive results with same/similar scenario?? Can anyone give me hope please xx ps we gave had one round of icsi resulting in a chemical pregnancy and had no frozen :-(.

I need hope
Hi littleflower82, I really do hope things turn around for you and work out ππ»ππ»π€π»π€π». Going through our situation it was found that my hubby was born with his tubes not attached properly. No sperm at all in the samples he did so with an ultrasound and a mri scan this was found. He had an operation last November and they took 15 samples of which some were good, some not. Here we are now waiting for tomorrow to come around for the transfer and Iβve never been so scared but Iβm so hopeful that itβll work π€π»π€π»ππ»ππ». I donβt know if this has helped but if thereβs anything they can do with an operation etc then itβs worth asking. All the best and luck in the world for you both ππ xx
I almost felt like I was reading about myself.
Ours is male factor with zero chance of it happening naturally, so weβve been told. The little guys are not too bad theyβre just extremely limited! But unless we get any surprises, everythingβs βfineβ with me.
Iβm not a positive test result Iβm afraid as I like you recently had a chemical pregnancy and had no others left in the freezer. That was our one NHS round.
However, one thing that Iβve found it helpful to think along the way is that if there is a 1 in 3 chance of success then having that failure gets us closer to our positive and in theory it proves that your body knows what to do and can get pregnant but that for that embryo something wasnβt right. Itβs not always comforting but I tell myself it is!!
Thereβs no reason why it wonβt happen for you or me, but unfortunately we donβt know how long it will take before we get there.
I hope youβre doing okay. Are you getting ready to go again soon? xXx
Thank u, they told us a 6% chsnce of happening naturally. We had our first icsi in Feb-april (such a long process) I only had 3 embryos tho, 2 implanted an other didn't last. We took time out got married in July and Iv got promotion an starting a new job monday, I think with all that we aren't going back until Jan for a new round. Will keep trying naturally until then. but yeah they told us at our review that on average it can take 2 to 3 goes for it to work. I hope I have more eggs/embryos next time tho so we can have some fet, fresh cycles are Just so expensive.
Hey I'm in same situation as you, my Oh has very low sc but the ones they got from sample were good enough to use, we had our first icsi July/August which failed but like you no issues with so was confused and disappointed it didn't work! We still have two more shots and are due to start fresh cycle in January too! No frozen embryos so it's a full cycle anyway just wanted to post as I can relate to your situation as it is frustrating but positive for next round! Good luck in your next round xxx
Literally the exact same scenario as me. Do u take any vitamins? Our first cycle I didn't really know what to expect, I feel more knowledgable this time round so fingers crossed for us both. U say u have 2 more goes, did u opt for a package with it clinic?
No its through NHS Scotland so we get offered three shots, like you I didn't really know what to expect first time round and just did what I was told to do! I've heard alot about dhea and coq10 so contemplating on taking it but mentioned it at my follow up appointment and the doc didn't think it was a good idea! But I don't think it would do any harm xxx
Mine told me there no scientific evidence but can't c it doin any harm. I take 75 mg dhea an 100 mg coq10. Fish oil an folic acid. Ur lucky with 3 goes. I'm in n Ireland we get one. So we private next time
Yes very lucky shld be sane everywhere though! Xxx
Canβt share a positive story but wanted to wish you lots of luck - Iβm sure youβll get there xxx
So my hubby has sperm issues and we were told no chance of it happening naturally and we got a BFP from our first round of ICSI. We're now going through the process again to try and get no 2 and the nurse at my consultation the other day told me that there is only a 25% of getting pregnant naturally each month even for couples with no issues and one element of that is that a lot of embryos implant but then don't develop as they should and turn into a chemical pregnancy. As far as I'm aware there isn't a link between sperm factors and non-developing embryos, the sperm factor stops the fertilisation to start with.
I think because weve been through ICSI and are looking to be pregnant we are more likely to find out about a chemical pregnancy than someone who gets pregnant naturally. If you have no known issues then it's quite possible that your CP was down to an embryo not developing in the same way that any normal embryo may not develop. Like busybee says it does at least prove you can get pregnant so if you do continue to struggle in future rounds then it will give your clinic an idea of where to look for the issue. Good luck!
Thank u, congrats on ur first bfpand good luck for this round well last time was nhs do at least this time I'm more aware an understand it all better, I have made some changes and taking more vitamins so I hope wen we start I will have more eggs an better quality embryos that will last the whole way xx
Trying baby for more than 6 years. Went for IVF, doc told us that my husband had poor sperm quality, but still we went through IVF, and the test was BFP .
Over the moon now π
So you never know, try your luck hunni πππ»
The cause of our infertility was male factor (low count I think, low motility) and we got BFP on our first attempt at ICSI. Still a long way to go (I'm 8+3 today) but hope that reassures you a bit? x
Friend of mine not only had a bfp from first round icsi with male factor, they also had a surprise natural pregnancy fu d years later despite having been told his count was so low that natural pregnancy was basically impossible. They'd resigned themselves to their daughter being an only child... but now she's not!
Hi, sorry to read about icsi ending this way for you x
I am currently 8+3 after icsi in part due to husband having low sperm count, poor motility and poor morphology. We were told we would be lucky to have a 1% chance of concieving naturally, but it can happen with treatment.
It can feel like a losing battle at times but please don't lose hope. It can happen for you too. Best wishes xx
Hi little flower π
My tests were all fine too however my husband has v.low sperm motility, we have been ttc for seven years. We struggled with our first BFN three years ago after going through our first cycle of ICSI treatment and sort of lost hope that we would have our own little family however we saved up our pennies and have recently gone through a second cycle, Iβm currently 10dp5dt (we had two blastocysts transferred) and I have had two faint lines on my pregnancy tests for two days so I am remaining hopeful that these little embies have decided to stay with me.
Hang in there it WILL happen for you!!!! Wishing you all the best with your journey πΈXxxx
Congrats on ur bfp hopefully ul get wee twinnes on ur scan, will b keeping a wee eye out xx
My tests were fine too amh was 17.5 which for age 35 was gud but I only got three eggs. Iv made some changes an taking vitamins do hopefully will get better quality and quanity next time round for freezing, fresh cycles are Just so expensive. Xx
They changed my drug protocol on my second round and I went from 3 mature eggs to nine mature eggs. Hopefully they'll consider doing this for you too.
What were u on an what are they increasing it to? I was on 250 and they said next time will increase to 275, I showed loads of follicles all gud sizes but when ec came was no eggs in majority. They said at scans next time they will do estrogen blood tests at each scan aswell an it shud tell by levels if number of follicles showing are indicating right number of eggs, so hoping next time will get more.
Hi I have everything crossed for you. Ours is a male factor with low volume, low sperm count and motility. Our chances are extremely low naturally but my partner made lots of life changes and all those numbers went slowly up so he managed to avoid an operation for retrieval.
We are currently on our 2nd cycle of icsi with 6 fertilised out of 10 and aiming for a day 5 transfer. First cycle only 1 fertilised out of 4.
I am wishing you all the best for cycle two xx
Thank u, Wishing you loads of luck for this transfer, you seem to have had more eggs and embryos this time, hopefully this is ur turn. Will follow u and keep an eye out for ur result xx
Hello lovely. You know my story but just wanted to wish you luck and give you some hope that it WILL happen for you xxx
Thank u, think I just having a wee off day. Just my age an that I feel everything stacked against us. How are u keeping?? πππ
And the waiting is very frustrating isn't it. I'm sure things will work out for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Going for a scan tmrw but more anxious than excited. Xx
Hiya we had icsi due to male factor infertility and I'm currently 18wks pregnant after our 2nd go! It does work!! xxx
The same happening to us in September. My husband has low sperm and we did icsi. We got 10 eggs. Only 7 then 4. Waited 5 days one was put in the rest didn't last. So the next time we are wanting to use a sperm donor as we both think it's his sperm that has the problem. But are follow up appointment is not until November so we have a long wait. We are just hoping we went back on the waiting list in September. π
Was this ur first cycle?
No our second we got 10 eggs i was a donor so we only got 5. Three work but on the 5th day we got the phone call to say that they had not worked. This time we got 10. 7 were good by the 4th day we have 4 good ones so when it came to the transfer day we got one put back in. The next day we told the rest have not survived. I got a positive test on the 3rd of September and we loss on the 10th September. So we don't know what to do. Xx
My daughters husband had zero sperm count due to him being a cystic fibrosis carrier so his tubes were blocked . They had to surgically remove sperm from his testicles. They then went on to have icsi. The result is my darling grandson. Since then they had a failed FET but this week they have started a fresh cycle so we are hoping for another miracle. Please don't loose hope because miracles do happen xxxxx
Hi I am 44 and just used my own eggs and partners sperm. He had a vasectomy 21 years ago and had surgical sperm retrieval as a result. I am not sure of his sperm quality but we got pregnant first round and I am now 18 weeks. He is also over 60 so I hope this gives you some hope xxx
Hi my 7yr old is the result of a fet cycle from an initial icsi cycle due to male factor. We had 4 embryos , the first 2 didn't implant . On our second try with the FET, 2 day embryos, I had a faint line on day 7 . I was a serial tester ! The only difference was I took pregnacare vitamins for at least 3 months before starting the cycle & continued until she was born. Don't give up hope, there are lots of positive stories from icsi cycles. My clinic told me to think of the first round as a practice, so your body knows what to expect from all the drugs and how you react to them . Good luck with everything xx
There is definitely hope. My husband has a zero sperm count and after a successful surgical sperm retrieval and ICSI our baby daughter Isla Hope was born in August π I will happily share any further details if you wanted any. Good luck to you both x
