Lap and dye test results - 1 tube blocked, what next?

Hey guys- sorry posted other one too early by mistake.

I had my lap and dye test. The doctor said 1 tube the dye passed through but the other one did not. She said it's still possible to get pregnant. She said my fertility doctor would decide the next move. Has anyone experienced this news and can share what happened next? I really hope it's not something invasive 😭. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise and experiences ladies. Wishing everyone all the best xxxx

Hi macavela

When I had my hsg it found that my right tube was also completely blocked.

For me, they did a laparoscopy operation to unblock the tube. (They also cleared some adhesions around the tubes and did ovarian drilling to try and help me ovulate naturally)

Do you know when your appointment with your doctor will be yet?

Good luck with it all 🍀🍀

Xx

Hi ChloBo84!

Thanks for the reply! My dye test was combined with a laparoscopy so I would of hoped they would have done whatever they could to fix it whilst they were already there rather than going through that whole ordeal again😥

I'm seeing my fertility doctor on the 2nd of January so hopefully she will have a positive plan. Ovarian drilling sounds terrifying?!🙈 best of luck to you too, you sound like a trooper!😚😚

Oooooooh of course. Sorry, head not screwed on properly. Fingers crossed they would have been able to unblock the tube.

Good luck with your appointment 🤞

Haha. I think ovarian drilling definitely sounds horrendous 😂 it’s meant to help people with pcos to try and regulate periods and help ovulation. They make tiny holes in the outer surface of the ovary (which can be thickened by the pcos) and because the outer layer has been pierced, it can boost fertility! Amazing what they can do now.

Sadly, it still didn’t work for me so I was then put on fertility medication.

It’s been a long old journey so far. I’m keeping everything crossed this is my time really ☺️ xx

I had the same diagnosis, one blocked tube but also with severe pcos. We were advised due to age that ivf was best option for us.

We had to abandon our first cycle as folicles didn't grow so next round increased the drugs, folicles grew but ended in bfn. Next round was a natural frozen FET and am currently 27+3.

Wishing you all the best on your journey xx

I had a hycosy and both tubes came back clear. A year later I had an ectopic and one tube was removed. During that op they said the other tube was also very badly damaged so IVF was my only option.

It's great news that you still have one good tube. You can get pregnant with one tube 😊❤️
