Bleeding at 9 weeks

Anyone have any positive stories following bleeding at 9 weeks? Yesterday evening there was some bright red blood when I wiped. It's been on and off overnight /this morning. It's not a huge amount but it's there and it's bright. I'm yet to call my clinic. This is a completely natural pregnancy after 4 years of trying and 2 years of chemical IVF transfers. I'm terrified

Hi. You will worry, but you may have a bit of an infection brewing make sure you drink plenty of water so you pass lots of pale urine. It can happen too due ro the placenta developing, and also its position. Hopefully they will check you with a scan. Hopefully all will soon settle. Diane

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had a bleed at 10 weeks, ended up paying for a private scan the following day which thankfully confirmed all was well. They never found a cause, I bled on and off for about 2 weeks, possibly a haematoma but I don't know. I have had a lot of friends who also had bleeds at various points in their pregnancies. Might be worth calling your EPU and they will often arrange a scan, it's best to get checked out. Wishing you all the best, it is so scary when it happens, and one's mind always goes to a horrible place, but it isn't always the worst x

Hi, I had fairly heavy bleeding at 6/7 weeks and it was a sub-chorionic haematoma that was causing it. My private doctor put me on nifedipine to stop the uterus contracting, while it reabsorbed. It took about 4 weeks to resolve itself. Best of luck.

Only a scan will tell you. I had a big bleed at 8 weeks and passed a clot. Turns out it was hematoma. I bled on and off for 4 weeks after. But I also had not so positive news with my previous pregnancies, do you have any cramping or other symptoms- if it's bleeding on it's own i wouldn't worry too much and try to get a scan. Good luck x
