I had an internal ultrasound today for round two of Clomid. The damn drug has worked too well and I had 4! Follicles looking big and ready. We've been told not to try and conceive because of the high risk of multiple pregnancy π. I will still need the 21day blood test as I still might not ovulate!
Really gutted- I know it's a good sign that Clomid is working but it's just another cycle with no hope! Has anyone ever experienced this?

Hi!π ooooof I guess that's still good news! Perhaps next month they can adjust the dose of the clomid? Are you tempted to try any way? Id be like gimme ALL the babies!!!π I am trying clomid for the first time next month but my doctor said nothing about scansπ€
If you're not trying this month you deserve to make it count... πππΎπ
Hey... it's a postcode lottery(or country lottery in your case?) regarding scans. I have a friend in the same boat but under a different CCG and she doesn't get scans- I know I'm really lucky with that x
Hey, this happened to my friend and she ignored them telling her not to try. She's not 12 weeks pregnant - it's a very risky decision to make though. As you've said it's a good sign that you've responded so well to clomid and at least they can adjust the dose for next month - lots of luck xx
Haha!! It's so risky my husband is absolutely dead against trying! So I can't do much about that. They're dropping my dose to 25mg next month- seems really low to me so I'm nervous we will be back to square one! X
I had the same thing (same amout of follicles too) but I don't have any issues ovulating so it was pointless to start me on Clomid anyway! I ended up doing natural IUI cycles and have been producing follicles without Clomid. I wish I'd risked it when I had 4 follicles as my 2 rounds have not worked - but I wouldn't advise it!
It's positive that you're responding to the meds and good that they've lowered your dose. I know its disappointing but the next cycle comes round so quickly! Good luck xx
No! The first month was no sex before scan after that there was no guidance. So we had sex a week before the scan and now there is a risk of multiple pregnancy... but it's a very small risk x
Haven't got experience of this specifically but for other various reasons (OHSS, clinic unable to do FET at weekends, have to do test of ovulation for one month) we have had to delay our treatment a few times. It feels devastating when you feel you are having a 'wasted month'. But now I am the other side (OTD on Tuesday) time really does fly and it won't be long before hopefully you can try safely on a lower dose. I work in healthcare so have seen the risks of multiple pregnancies and although we are all totally desperate to have babies I would definitely steer clear if you have four big follicles! As someone else said, make the most of a month off, and next month will come round sooner than you think xx
