Awaiting NHS funding

5 years of ttc, diagnosed with endometriosis recently and underwent laparoscopy for resection of endometriosis. Now submitted the application for IVF funding to be sent to ccg. Can someone advice me regarding how much time does the ccg take to make funding decision.

I'm not sure about waiting times- every area seems to vary-you could ask the hospital for rough estimate- so you know for booking time off work etc? Sure other ladies here will have better advice ( I can't access NHS funding for IVF as I have a child from a previous relationship that is 18)

I've also recently been diagnosed with endometriosis after 5 years and 10 months of TTC. It seems to be difficult to get endometriosis diagnosed 😑My consultant removed endometriosis from my pouch of Douglas- I cant remember much after the surgery- we have an appointment with him in 3 weeks time to discuss the way forward for us.

I wish you the very best with everything and I hope your wait isn't too long. Maybe now the endometriosis has been treated you might fall naturally now 😘xoxo

I was told 6-8 weeks but there was a delay and I ended up making lots of phone calls after 8 weeks to chase them up, I felt like they'd forgotten us! Finally I spoke to someone who confirmed we got our funding but still had to wait for the letter of confirmation. It took almost 4 months altogether!! It really dragged. I hope you get a decision quickly 🤞 xx

Might help to say which ccg you are in and see if anyone has experience in that area as they all vary.

I'm west Surrey, applied in June 2016 and had first ivf cycle Feb 2017.

We had to wait in funding then, a wait for the fertility clinic appointment and then a wait for the ivf clinic appointment.

Hi Danjel. Sadly, it can take up to 18 weeks! If I were you, I would chase them up every month, as a reminder. Remember though, that nothing much happens through end of July/August, as even the CCGs wind down for summer annual leave. Hope you don't have to wait too long, and good luck when you start your treatment. Diane
