Hi I'm not to sure of the answer here ,I've been told I have funding for 2 rounds , my first round I got my bfp but it didn't end well! Will I still get my frozen and next round funded or will I now have to self fund? This was the first time I have got pregnant though IVF! Xxx

hi Holly Jane. Sorry to hear of your loss. If you have frozen embryos that's still classed as one round of IVF. I understand one 'round' is classed as a fresh round from start to finish. If you have frozen embryos you're half way there and won't need half as many injections nor will you have to pay for embryo transfer. Hope all goes well xx
I am so sorry that your first cycle ended in heartache 😢
I have recently been told by my clinic that if my fresh cycle gives me a BFP I will not qualify for a FET as part of the original cycle - even if the pregnancy should end badly. I'm not sure if it varies by clinic. I am only allowed one try on the NHS so in this situation I would have to pay for the next cycle. If you have two tries on the NHS then I presume you would be able to make the choice between starting another fresh cycle or using your frozen embies. Lots of luck and baby dust for your next step on this journey xx
So sorry to hear your bfp didn't continue into a healthy pregnancy 😞 x
So sorry about you loss. This is heartbreaking for you. I think it depends where in the country you are but my understanding is 2 cycles incudes frozens from each of those cycles..it does where we are anyway..good luck xxx
Hi babez let me clear this up for u as ive been throughy this...ok if u got 2 free cycles say for instance u do ur fresh cycle and u got 10 eggs u use 1 and have 9 frozen..untill all them 10 eggs are used freshly or frozen thts still cycle 1..also if u got pregnant with any off the eggs in ur first cycle and sadly went on 2 have a miscarriage as i did at 8 wks 😢..u still get to use the rest of ur eggs or embryos u have frozen and its still classed as ur first cycle then and only then once all them 10 eggs are used would u move on to cycle to and how ever many eggs u got on ur second cycle you would get to use as part of that cycle..hope you understand my explonation if not feel free to PM me x x x
As my clinic wouldn't do what Emzlou's did I would suggest asking your clinic directly so you know for sure where you stand. Clinics tend to vary on all sorts of things. Fingers crossed they will use your frozen embies under one cycle though as that would be such a better system than mine and one less worry for you to have ❤️
I agree it depends not just on your clinic but on your clinical commissioning group, which is local to your region. They're all different. For example, we only get one round on the NHS and if you've had a pregnancy in the previous year, you're not eligible for NHS funding at all. So stupid. What's the point of NICE guidelines that can be completely ignored by the powers that be?
Just in case you don't see the post by Krushby89. Here is a link to some info about what each of the CCG's offer in terms of IVF including additional transfers

Hello, sorry to jump on here, but do you know what happens to your number of rounds if you were entitled to 2 or 3, but midway through treatment your CCG decides to lower the number they offer? Do you still get the original number of cycles that you were approved for?! xxx
Hi I've read recently that if you were granted three when you started, you get the one your currently on and one following but that's it. So if you haven't had one at all, you get one. If you've had one, or are in the middle of one, and it fails you get that one and one following. If you have two failed you still get your third. Totally baffles me how they work it out ?
I shared the link last night, for the table that shows what ccg you are and therefore how many rounds you are entitled to and whether frozen transfers are included, as someone else said, it depends on your ccg, not your clinic.
It also includes some info about patient action day on march 25th, worth a read, it's about fighting for 3 rounds of ivf for everyone.
