Awaiting Funding 🤞

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice last week on how to choose a clinic.

My husband and I have decided on the clinic now, I called the hospital this morning and will only have to wait 2-3days to see if we get NHS funding!

For the first time we are both excited now to start this journey! When we were told our only way to conceive was through IVF we were devastated and all I did was cry! Feelings of anger towards the world and then guilt as at least we both have our health. I know this is going go be a long emotional journey and that we may still not get what we want but I am now looking forward and have feelings of excitement!

Hi Daxie,

Hope your well,.. that's great news you now only have to wait 2-3days.

I am in a similar situation to you, I selected my clinic for IVF through NHS 2 weeks back.. and got the phone call today that NHS funding has been approved. They said I should receive a phone in the next week from the clinic and then there the ones who will be taking care of me going forward.

Like you and hubby.. specialists told me my only way of conceiving is thru IVF as I have endo on right ovary. Which after laproscopy has reoccured due to unsucessful IUI 2 months ago with Clomid . How has your journey been? Xxx

Well that's what they said we shall see....hopefully by next week!

Congratulations on getting your funding approved!! I bet you cant wait to get a clinic appointment now!

Sorry you have had a rough time already. Me and my husband have been trying for about 18months now so went to the GP who referred us to the hospital fertility unit. On our very first and probably only visit there they told us our only option was IVF. I have PCOS and was told I wasnt ovulating which they said they could manage but hubby has very low sperm count...so we are just at the beginning of our journey

Xxx

🤞 you and me both get our phone calls next week!!..

I'm sorry to hear you have also had alot of heartache with hearing IVF is your only option. It so sad how this is something we physically cannot control. Even though we change our diets and lifestyles take more additional supplements to help increase chances and improve quality of eggs etc.. It's so heart breaking that we have to go through this difficult and painful journey.

I'm so glad you went GP and straight away they refered you, instead of the usual relax don't stress and keep trying response.

I've been trying 5 years with hubby and never seen a positive preg test. But I'm adiment the last 2 months I've had etopic preg which my thinking is because I've totally stopped thinking about it, and now relived with NHS ivf process it's happened but implantation has been successful. I have endometriosis which I think had played a part in this.

As you have PCOS is your process more long winded with medication, have you seen any posts about other women going thru IVF with PCOS. Would be good for you to find out to get abit more knowledge and be abit prepared so u know what may come in your appointments.

Yes I'm very excited, but my brothers getting married abroad dec 27th and not back till Jan 10th. So I don't know when they are going to start treatment ideally would want them to do when I come back from holiday. But let's see what they suggest.

Are you finally nice and relaxed knowing you are going to get the help finally you have been longing for. X

Hi Jasmeet

I know its hard to process it at first. We thought our first hospital appointment would be to go and they would start us on some sort of medication and tell us to go away, keep trying and come back in a couple of months. So it was a big shock to us both to be told we had to go straight for IVF. I know we haven't been told we can't have children but it was still very sad as I looked at it as IVF was the last option but it has been given to us as our only option.

I have no idea what the process will be to be honest and if it's any different because of the PCOS? What about you with endometriosis? Sorry you have that, its rotten. 😣

Yes I think it would be best to have your holiday so your nice and chilled and look forward to starting the process!

I'm excited about it now but nervous too! I guess I'm nervous about the unknown and just want to have our first appointment so I know what the plan will be!

Let me know when you get your phone call!!!

Xxx

1st appointment we went through some forms we had to fill in (general info like height, weight, how long we had been trying). I then had an ultrasound and blood test. Then more bloods for something else two weeks later and then a further two weeks later a discussion about options (where it was confirmed we needed ivf). They send consent forms and a log in to loads of info to watch and then on tuesday they will go through them and we sign in person. After that i am guessing treatment!

Have you had any updates since you posted? Xx
