Does anyone know if progynova tablets can cause an LH surge? Triggering a positive ovulation test?
Basically this morning I used an ovulation test don't know why lol but I did. I've no pregnancy test and just thought well I know ovulation test can detect pregnancy so I'll just try it. Anyway I got a second faint line which got darker over time.
So my question is could the progynova estrogen tablets be causing an LH surge which is why the faint positive came up?
I dunno why I did it. What an idiot!!!
I'm 5dp5d so I know it's very early. I'm so mad at myself for being so weak!! Should have got the ovulation tests hidden lol xxx

It is true that an opk can pick up hcg however as you say it got darker over time I would personally discount it. Every month at some point I would always get my blazing positive opk and the results would always come up within one minute. Anything else wasn't a positive. Even a second line, if it wasn't as dark as the control line or even darker it didn't count. What I'm trying to say is yes, they can supposedly detect pregnancy but I wouldn't go on any results taken outside of the time frame. X
The second faint line came up right away although didn't get as dark as control line until around 5 minutes?
When I usually use them for ovulation I either get just 1 line or a second faint line which gradually gets darker over the days until ovulation is detected.
I think what threw me was the fact I seen the second faint line right away as usually it's just 1 line when nothing.
But obviously just worried could be the medication now. God I'm an idiot for doing that lol xxx
As I understand it we have some levels of LH in our bodies at all times but a positive opk picks up the surge. Even men produce LH, it is essential in the production of sperm.
You may well be pregnant, and like you say, it's early days, but I just don't want you to get your hopes up on an unsure opk result..
Good luck, I hope you get your bfp in a few days!! Perhaps get some pregnancy tests in tomorrow 😉 xx
I understand. If you want to test then test, it's all down to personal choice. Just don't be too disheartened if you get a bfn at this stage because as you said, it's really early xx
