My stomach around the injection site is all red and itchy :( I've only been doing the cetrotide for 2 days and I've had to cool it down with ice, but my god, SO itchy! Anyone got any recommendations? Can I use E45 cream on the site?

I had the same! It got easier. It helped me to get my other half to blow on it and role a glass of cold water over it. I didn't use cream - but I don't see why not xx

I'm sitting with blocks of ice inside a wee tea towel :(

It'll get easier - or you'll get used to it! x

I always got this, it used to be all raised and red like nettle stings think it's just one of the side effects for some. Hang in there and try not to scratch xx

I sometimes get skin hives (nothing to do with ivf) found ice too harsh. Wet a towel and put it in the fridge for 30mins and use it on the site whilst another chills in the fridge x

Should you still continue with the drug if you are reacting? Arent there others?

It's really high up the expected side effects, I as long as the rash doesn't spread it's supposed to be okay - but I've got an appointment tomorrow so I can ask them. That's a good tip, I might even just straight up freeze a wet towel, it's so bloody annoying and it doesn't go away for a good 3 hours :(

Just don't scratch as it only gets worse. I found cooling allot better than any antihistamine which only made me sleepy.

Hope it gets better x

I was on a different drug but I found that injecting super super slowly massively helped me not to get red raised itchy bumps. Worth a try. But I mean SUPER slowly!!

I found last night that pre icing the site helped the bumpiness, but it didn't help the itching. I'll try going super slow tonight!

I think ice and just waiting it out is all I can do really!

Just did my first cetrotide injection an hour ago and it's still red and itchy! Thankfully wasn't painful though so i think I will be able to live with it!

I'm the same, it's just so hot and itchy! Mine seemed to last for about 3 hours but the nurse says it's normal.

Just so everyone knows, the nurse told me today to persist with the ice and not to put any cream or anything on the site.
