About to embark on ivf...

Everything is suddenly moving very fast. Had first appointment which was an overload of information. I want to do as much as I can to de stress and make myself as healthy as possible. I have had different types of massage and reflexology which have helped with my endo. I have read that reflexology and acupuncture can support ivf or help your body up to and during ivf. Is this something anyone else had experienced? I tried acupuncture before and wasn't keen. But willing to try again. Any recommendations?

I've started both reflexology and acupuncture. I'm really enjoying the reflexology and have been fascinated about what my feet can say about me. My therapist could even tell that I'd just ovulated. If nothing else it's relaxing me so I'm definitely going to stick with it through the cycle.

I'm less convinced about the acupuncture at the moment. Have read so many great things about it and am only two sessions in so will give it a few more before abandoning it but it's so much more expensive than the reflexology and I'm just not seeing any benefits yet. Like I say, early days so will wait and see.

Not sure that's any help!! Good luck with whatever you decide and hope the treatment goes well x

Thanks very much for your reply. That's really helpful. I only had a couple of sessions of acupuncture too and never went back but did enjoy reflexology. Thanks again really appreciate your response. Will defo go back to reflexology and have a think about acupuncture again. X

Hello! I wasn't sold on acupuncture, but my husband really rated it, and I have to say I've definitely seen the benefits. I went from a complete sceptic, to now a convert! I've been going since our first failed round in November, and it's helped my periods be less painful, and I can actually sleep again!

Saying all if this if you're aren't keen then stick with your reflexology, as ultimately it's meant to help you relax!?! I'm not sure I've been any help, but good luck! Xx

You have been a great help. I think I will go back to reflexology. Good point- should go with whatever feels relaxing. And might think about acupuncture again. Sorry to hear about the first round. Wishing you lots of luck next time x

Hi MJD1712. Go with whatever you feel improves the way you cope with all of this. However, if you are using any oils or herbs, do check with your consultant when going through a treatment cycle, as some can interact with fertility medication. Good luck! Diane
