4th and our last Ivf

Well I'm here again.. after having a tough year last year for numerous reasons we took time out of our fertility treatment. Now we are ready to embark on our 4th IVF we been to follow up last week with consultant and everything is going to be changed !!! (Scary thought) to try and improve my egg quality as this is apparently our main area for concern. Feeling very nervous if anyone had any tips to help us with this I would be very grateful. I usually have acupuncture but this time I think I'm going to try reflexology. Let's make 2018 our year!!

Good luck keeping my fingers crossed for you! I looked into diet, and read it starts with an egg, but didn’t follow it religiously as I would have gone mad. I also downloaded some relaxation tracks which helped me chill out a little! Xxx

Hi lady!! Hope you will be fine. Its good to know about the success of your IVF procedure. No doubt, it takes a lot of time with repeated cycles but you will definitely get good results. I want to congratulate you on your success. It was indeed a long journey but with good outcomes. Now it’s a time to welcome a newborn in your family. Make preparations for your new family member. I wish you a best of luck for your life ahead

Sorry I’m not sure if that was unclear but sadly my treatment wasn’t successful, but those were the things that helped me feel like I was helping to improve and take back a little control, I’ve also been having acupuncture and really find it relaxing, and like Diane says it gets the old bloody flowing to the right places!! xx

Thank you for your reply. I do need to look at diet I unfortunately do have a sugary tooth.. and I been looking at ways to have alternatives. I bought the Zita west relaxation cd last cycle but find it easy to switch of at times. Xx

Hi Helenlou. Well, just wanted to wish you massive luck this time round, and I'm pleased to hear you're going to try acupuncture. It is known to increase blood supply to the reproductive system, which can only be good when looking for some decent eggs! I won't lecture you about diet, as you probably know more than me by now, but add some extra zinc if you can. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you DIane I'm feeling very nervous on this cycle probably as it's going to be the last. So fingers crossed. I'm currently googling foods which also increase blood flow and food that include zinc! Xx

Hi Helenlou. Good food sources of zinc include meat, shellfish, milk and dairy foods such as cheese, bread, and cereal products such as wheat germ. This is why milk is so often favoured when going through a cycle of treatment, as it covers both protein and zinc. It should help with building up your endometrium too. Acupuncture and hypnotherapy also have been known to improve blood flow to the ovaries. Good luck with the Googling! Diane

Wishing you lots of luck for this next cycle, I’ve always tried Acupunture to but have heard good things about reflexology. Really hope this is your year xx

all the best with round 4 lovely.

i’ve been having facial reflexology (didn’t even know that was a thing!) to help me get over my 2 failed rounds.

it’s been really effective in helping me sort my head out & the reflexologist has noted an improvement in hormone imbalances / blockages which is really positive.

now i’m approaching round 3 i’ll continue to see her, but for managing my mental health during the treatment rather than anything that might impact the cycle.

i also used the ‘ivf belief’ cd by helen mcpherson during both previous rounds - i didn’t get pregnant obvs, but i found it improved my sleep and helped me relax.

hopefully this is our year. sending positive vibes ✨💕✨

Wow I didn't even know you can have facial reflexology... when on this journey it's hard to know what to do.. but I feel I need to try something different and I'm hoping it be our year... I have good response in regards to eggs but the quality is not there I never get to blastocyst stage. How often do you have reflexology ?and when do you start in regards to the IVF ? My brain feels frazzled. When are you looking to do your next cycle? Xx

i hear ya - it’s a total minefield. sorry to hear your poor brain is frazzled - this journey is so intense & so much of it beyond our control.

i tried everything to help with our unexplained infertility - chinese medicine, acupuncture, hypnosis, yoga, counselling, more exercise, less exercise - you name it!

after finally accepting the IVF route i was totally shattered when it didn’t work. so started the reflexology to work on my state of mind, rather than to assist with pregnancy.

i start down regulation on friday and hope to transfer early march - just before my 38th birthday! am lucky to have frosties left from first cycle, i just hope they’re goodies.

am with you all the way - PM anytime ✨💕✨

Hi Helenlou

All the very best 4 th time around. I had a good bfp on my 4 th cycle. I also tried reflexology and a full body massage too days before my transfer. I added baobab powder and maca powder (from early 2017)to my diet by putting them in my smoothies and sometimes my rooibos tea. I ate lots of avocado, lots of beetroot and lots of spinach and continued taking folic acid after my failed 3 rd cycle. Lo and behold it worked and as I type I'm 12 weeks today, going for my scan next week .im not sure if all of that helped. My 4 th cycle was FET .i hope this is your IT cycle and you get a bfp .you can check some of my posts to get an idea of what it's been like for me.

Hang in there, relax and hope for the best.

in reply to

Wow congratulations on your bfp fantastic news. My medication have changed on this cycle I'm going on lower dose of new medication, hoping for better egg quality. I have not gone to blastocyst stage and had none good enough to freeze. The quantity has always been there not the quality. So hoping for some better results. Thank you for your advice. Xx
