Hi ladies just wondering is decaff tea ok to drink? My nurse said it's ok but the internet says that you should avoid decaff tea aswell. Very confused x

Hi NDE! I've read this too! Which is frustrating as I gave up caffeine months ago. I now have one cup of decaf tea a day and I drink hot water when I want a hot drink (I know it doesn't sound very appealing but I promise you get used to it). Sometimes I have decaf peppermint tea or decaf green but I've read that it counteracts the folic acid? Plus there's a chemical process in extracting the caffeine apparently... we can't win can we?! I think the best thing is to keep it in moderation and you should be fine x x x

I can't live without my one morning decaf cup

I can't see why there would be a problem with decaff tea?? I'm sure the NHS website said it was ok? I hope so, I'm living on it!!! Will ask my midwife next week...

I'm on decaf tea and coffee too. I thought the problem was the caffeine 🤔

Thank you for your replies ladies! I was told decaff was ok aswell be I have been drinking this since the beginning of the year, but when I was googling (I know I shouldn't!) Some links said that even decaff is harmful. Thanks for the replies xx ☕☕☕

Oh wow, it's like whatever we do isn't the right thing yet there are so many people, drinking, smoking and knocking back cokes and coffees all day long and getting pregnant!

I tend to stick with herbal tea (avoiding green tea as this has caffeine) and for normal tea, try Redbush tea (roibos tea) which is from South Africa and is naturally caffeine free! :-)

We are starting bursellin injections on 27th October. Nervous!!

Good luck hun!iv got used to the injections now. It's become my night routine lol. Haven't really had any side effects although I do keep waking up very often at night, I think I will just stick to my one cup or decaff tea! Waiting for my period to start now so I can book my first baseline scan xx

Katrina, thank you so much for posting this. It has really opened my eyes to how I am feeling and you are so right with your thoughts. I am only on my down regulation injections and already I am thinking of what is right for me to do and what is wrong. Thanks again for sharing. Congratulations on the birth of your Baby! Xxxz

Hey decaf tea is fine in moderation (tea apparently affects iron levels?) I have a couple a day. Green tea is not great as detoxs the good stuff such as folic acid. Best of luck on your journey xx
