Hi everyone. I had 2 blasts put in the evening of 5th Nov. Here are my HCG Levels :
7.5DP5DT (13th Nov Morning) : 28
9.5DP5DT (15th Nov Morning) : 56.5
12.5DP5DT (18th Nov Morning) : 144.33
14.5DP5DT (20th Nov Morning) : 305.43
Are these levels normal ? My clinic wants to do a scan next Monday (23rd Nov). Given my HCG levels isn’t that too early to see a gestational sac ? I’m not sure why my doctor scheduled it so early and I am concerned we may not see anything as it is early and that may stress me out. Should I ask to push my scan ? Or maybe it is just to rule out an ectopic etc ? Thanks in advance !
UPDATE : We saw a sac measuring 3.46mm at 5 weeks 2 days. Doctor explained prior to scan that it was only to make sure there was no pregnancy outside the uterus and not to worry if we didn’t see anything yet as it was too early. He was pleased to see a sac and had no concerns whatsoever about my hcg levels as they doubled well. Going in again at 6 weeks 2 days to look for a yolk sac !!

Hi Pu. The readings although increasing, are a bit low, but hopefully just slow starters and they will catch up. Hope all goes well with the scan. Diane
Yes ! I have read there are many who experience slow starts but provided it doubles every 48-72 hours, it could go on to be a healthy pregnancy. I am desperately hoping that is the case with me. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, Diane !
Thank you so much for your response Lisichka, I was concerned as I came across info that HCG has to be between 1500-2000 to be able to see a gestational sac. And according to my calculations, if my HCG keeps doubling at this rate, I will be in that range about 2-3 days after the original scan date. Do you think there may still be a chance I can see only the gestational sac prior ? I would be more than happy just to see a sac. Thanks again
My doctor said that the level needs to be over a 1,000 which yours should be when you go. Bear in mind that oftentimes levels more than double. I went at 6 weeks and we saw sac and yolk; my friend went at 5 weeks and they saw a sac, no yolk. I think if you’re happy to wait you can go a bit later so you can see a bit more. I think your doctor probably just wants to make sure that your embryo implanted in tue right place. Let me know how you get on xx
Hey there ! Had my scan today and we saw a gestational sac ! Doc said everything looks just right for how far along I am today. Going back same time next week when I’ll be 6 weeks to look for the yolk sac ! Thanks girl
Hi there Msze, I have provided an update above and will continue to do so, so you can feel better. It does not matter at all what your baseline hcg started off with, as long as they double every 48-72 hours. I was paranoid for no reason as I saw other women with much higher values. I did extensive research and confirmed with my doc that it doesn’t matter. Even an increase as little as 53% as opposed to a 100% increase in values over 48-72 hours is considered enough for a good prognosis and will mostly go on to be a healthy pregnancy. The problem starts when the increase is below 50% or if it is decreasing compared to last reading. Wishing you the best and lots of baby dust !
Hi there ! Just wanted to provide you an update - I had my 7+3 scan today and we saw everything - yolk sac and baby measuring great as well as a heartbeat of 143 bpm ! The hcg levels were a non-issue. I wish I didn’t freak out as much looking back now haha. All the very best with your scans !
Had my 7 week (exact) scan today and had a strong 122 BPM heartbeat. 😀 Given my history, I don’t feel comfortable celebrating! But hopefully with every passing week, I get more snd more comfortable and confident! 😀 Let’s stay connected!
This is amazing news, I am so very happy for you ! Congratulations. This is a milestone passed indeed. Hopefully it is only onwards and upwards from here for the both of us. 😄 Would be lovely to stay in touch. My next scan is on 9+3. And if everything looks fine the next is at 12+3. What about you ?
