Hi Ladies, just looking for some advice on when you stopped taking cyclogest pessaries after your BFP. My clinic (Glasgow Royal infirmary) have advised to stop after test day but have read so many people continuing up to 12 weeks when the placenta takes over production.
Has anyone stopped on test day and was the outcome a live birth with no complications? Also I sent an email confirming result in order for me to get a follow up appointment - when would the first scan be due? Just so scared I've came so far - just don't want to do anything to jeopardise it.

Hi stargaze I am at Liverpool womens and they normally stop at test day but when we went for transfer I asked about it and asked again when I called with our test results. My reason for wanting it was due to having two early losses before this one and they didn't have a problem with it, I just had to pay about £50 for them as we are private there. They gave me enough to take me to early scan date. Unfortunately we had a mc at 6 weeks but I would definitely ask for them again next time xx
Hi, Thanks for your reply. So sorry to hear about your mc, cant even imagine the strength you've had to get through it. I called the hospital and asked for them to be on the same side, after a lot of back and forth they finally agreed to give me them for another 4 weeks up until the first scan so pleased that I asked again xxx
Hi Hun my first scan is this Friday ...that 7weeks . When I done my official test day and I call the clinic on 14th they send me another 3 boxes of progesteron ...that for another 4weeks. ..it's mean I'm gonna take them till I'm 9weeks . How many weeks u r at the moment ? Just ask your clinic again what will be the best for u ..🍀😃😃

Hello stargaze89 that great u call your clinic . I got only one more week on them 😃 I had my scan and was amazing ❤️ When we sow us little bean I cry ..didn't feel real ... My hubby had tears when he sow heartbeat I cry from happiness 😍 Is amazing seeing your little baby growing in you ❤️❤️ The nurse told us baby heartbeat is over 100bpm is strong and fast and they r happy to see it . On scan day I was 6weeks and 5days . We call GP 2day and we got us first appointment with midwife on 19th 😃😃 Hun your scan is on 17th how many weeks u gonna be by then ? Xxx
Hi Olivia, That sounds amazing, lovely to hear, can imagine how happy you would have been! Cant wait for mine now - they says it will be my 8 week scan although I counted it to be 7 weeks and few days I think. Have you been experiencing any symptoms, im a bit worried as I haven't had many yet, just tired and a bit nauseous sometimes xxx
Hi stargaze89 I don't have much symptoms either . Yes my boobs was hurting for almost a week that I couldn't sleep ...they better now just my nipples r sensitive and if I touch or I "feel cold "☺️They hurt bit . Is rare I get cramps . I haven't been sick . If I lift my hand up to get something from a top of the cupboard I feel like im pulling out my "stomach skin"...that why I stop doing that ..it just don't feel right and I remember what a nurse told me on my scan ...you need to be very very careful no lifting and how u getting up when u laying down becouse all your muscles r "relax "...(what ever that mean) I don't feel tried only when evening is coming I feel sleepy but In general I feel really good that sometimes I'm "forgetting I'm pregnant "☺️☺️☺️ Xxx
Hi, Aw that's good to know. Ive been doing some lifting but nothing major, trying to take it as easy as possible without being too 'lazy' lol Hopefully this is just one of the easy pregnancies, I suppose I should be thankful of that while it lasts! xxx
Hi Hun yeh be careful when u getting up or trying to reach for something high up ...feels like Pullin pain on stomach even if I laugh hard or sneeze I can feel it . I got two apps on my phone which I really like ...tell u everyday how your baby is doing ,how your body is changing , give some advise too and if u want u chat with those what they pregnant . One app is call Glow Nurture and another one is pregnancy +. They r free to download Hun try it ..xx😃
Hi stargaze - my clinic prescribes them until the first scan, they sometimes continue them until 12 weeks. I would call your clinic and discuss this with them if you're not happy to stop them, maybe you could buy them like Sprinkles says? If it's for your own peace of mind it's worth it - congratulations though, I hope your scan date comes through soon x x x
this completely depends on if you've had a fresh or frozen cycle... In a fresh your follicle will be producing oestrogen and progesterone so you only need the medicated support till BFP... On a FET you haven't released an egg so you need the support until the placenta takes over the hormone production. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your reply, i had a fresh cycle but read somewhere the placenta doesn't take over until around 9 weeks so was a bit apprehensive to stop them. Managed to get another few boxes to last until my first scan just for piece of mind i suppose xxx
