First month OPKing, temping and watching cm. Haven't ovulated this month, not sure I ever have. Fertility appointment is in Sept sometime. Want to try to get things moving before then. What supplements can I take? I'm 35 and nervous about running out of time.

Hi and welcome ☺️. Sorry to hear you're struggling. X most people don't get the full impact this has on your everyday life X I'm also hitting 35 in a few months time X know how you feel X I'm going to give you some inspiring words my GP gave me whilst referring me " 35 is a common and normal age for people to have children. People in my line of work haven't finished exams and can't even think about having children till they're that age". And went on to reassure me that 35 isn't old to have children. Really put my mind at ease X Could you ask clinic to put you on cancellation appointment? Xwe seeing out consultant next month ( I'm running private tests between now and then - I found out Nk is higher than normal range- a test I would recommend to any couple about undergo any treatment not NHS funded sadly) With pcos I think (I could be wrong) that some women do ovulate but just not regularly like every month X I'm not sure what you could do to bring ovulation on naturally X I'm sure Google will have some ideas 😏 X the clinic will assess your tubes to make sure they not blocked X providing tubes are clear they will most likely prescribe you clomid which will help you ovulate X I would try to enjoy time together with your other half X infertility can put such a strain on you both X plan a nice breakaway give yourselves something to look forward to X a chance to re Charge your batteries X Good luck with your appointment hope it goes well X

Hi Lynn.

I'm 37 and have PCOS too.

I was advised by my doctor in February to start taking Folic acid.

Currently awaiting second appointment with clinic and been advised to lose weight.

Maybe asked your GPS what would be best for you.

All the best on your journey x

Hi Lynndyloo. A good diet to have at this time consists of variety, however, I have listed some of the “good” things to have: Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid as "SueHutch" has mentioned - very important! Hope this helps and all the best with it all. Diane
