Just a blur: Hey everyone, I've had my... - Fertility Network UK
Just a blur
It's all very daunting at first. Have you had all your tests done or are they scheduled? We had several appointments and lots of tests before we got to the treatment protocol discussion with the consultant. I was very anxious about it all especially the stimulation injections. It helped when we saw the nurse to go through the treatment plan in more detail. She was very patient and listened to my fears and then did a test injection on me with saline water to show me it didn't hurt and then I had a try. There really is nothing to worry about. You soon get used to the scans, the staff have seen it all before! We got a time line and I ticked each little stage off as we went along.
I didn't find this forum until after our first BFN. I wish I'd known about it before we started round 1. It's good to know that there is a community here to support and help.
Good luck!
Hi pm27, thankyou for your reply. Yes it's very daunting, yesterday all I wanted to do was cry alday and I don't know why, don't know if it was me just over thinking things. I had my first appointment today and me and my partner both had to have blood taken and I had to have a swab taken and my partner a wee sample, I'm just having to wait on my appointment for more tests etc and my partner for his sample.
Thankyou for your reply again. Good luck too xxx
Hi. Me and DH had our first appointment 4 weeks ago and have our second in 4 weeks time. I'm nervous as we'll get my blood test results.
However, the support here is great and makes the journey less lonely.
I cried after our first appointment but think it was just releasing the stress I had built up towards it.
Hope your feeling more relaxed.
Xx
Thankyou for your reply, I'm guessing I'll get my results back when I have my next appointment too. Did they tell you a lot of information? They told me afew things and said they will explain more on the next appointment. I'm just reading through the booklet they gave me about it all. How are you finding it? Good luck with your journey xx
Hi Janer85 - Everything is a bit of a blur at first. I think we wait so long for our first appointment and then things just seem to move so quickly! Just take things one day at a time, maybe jot some notes down at your next meeting? I found that helpful because between the IVF, the ICSI, the AMH, the FSH, it OMG too much to take in!! haha
Try to take it one day at a time, keep records of your results and ask questions if you're not sure. Lots of luck with everything x x x
