So my appointment has come through and hopefully depending on my results and what they find I will be able to start treatment again.
But instead of long protocol I'll start short protocol .
Can someone tell me what's involved on short protocol please .
Felt very down when my treatment was stopped a few weeks ago , due to lining of womb being thick for some reason ( hence me having hysteroscopy) but feel a bit note positive again now .
Hope u don't get anymore knock backs .
Hope everyone's getting on ok and happy Easter .

Hi I did short protocol using menopur and centrotide.
I went for a base line scan and bloods on day 1 or 2 or my period, then when they are happy with that start injections just menopur then on day 4 onwards you have two injections menopur and centrotide, from day 6 you go every other day for scans and bloods. I did this for 13 days (in total from starting) then when they told me I was ready you do your trigger shot at the time they give you then 48hours later go for egg collection.
Hope that makes sense and you clinic may very slightly to mine.
I was on the short protocol using merional and cetrotide. I had a low dose of merional due to a polycystic ovary. I had a scan to check my lining, then my period arrived and then waited until day 3 (I think) to start the initial merional injections, had a few scans over the next week to check follicles and then after a week or so added cetrotide to stop any ovulation. After nearly 10/11 days I was ready for egg collection and had the trigger shot. They will make the decision on long or short depending on your medical history and how they think you'll respond to the drugs. It was very quick, and hope that helps! X
I had merional and orgalutran. I had baseline scan when I went for the teaching appt (happened to be around day 16 of previous cycle but wasn't specifically timed to be at any particular point). On day 1 I went on the pill for a few days so that I could time the start of my injections to fit in with the hospitals timetable. Then I started merional on what would have been day 1 of period if I hadn't been on pill, then added in the orgalutran injection from day 5. I think I went for my first scan on day 7 at which point they upped my dosage of merional then scans every couple of days after that. Trigger shot for me was day 11 (I.e. 10 days of injections then trigger). I think the main difference from long protocol is that you don't have the down reg phase first, but start straight on the stims, then use the second injection (orgalutran in my case) to down reg. Good luck!!!
