Stupid question

Ok so as I'm really close to starting ivf i have a random question. Is the two week wait still two weeks with ivf? Because the embryo develops for 3 to 5 days in the lab, surely this counts as part of the two weeks?

Anyone know? So basically I'm asking is it a whole two weeks after the embryo is put back that you take pregnancy test?

Hello! My clinic made me wait the full 2 weeks after a 5 day blastocyst transfer but I was surprised at this as I'm sure other clinics inc the 5 lab days as part of the 2ww. I would just follow whatever timescale your clinic suggests.

I am too! I surprised myself by waiting the full 2 weeks and not testing early but I think it was fear of the result rather than patience! x

I can understand that. I really hate taking pregnancy tests as they have always been negative in the past. Hopefully that's about to change x

Hi, we tested 2 weeks after the egg collection so the embryo development counted as part of the 2 weeks. It's a long 2 weeks!! Good luck x

All clinics have different timetables. Mine was 2 days shorter than 2 weeks after the transfer, so 12dp5dt. It also depends on if your clinic does blood test or urine test for HPT. It shows up faster with bloods. My clinic doesn't do bloods so had a bit longer to wait. Good luck!
