Progesterone suppositories

Hi everyone, we are due our 12 week scan next week and are keeping everything crossed the baby will be doing well. I just wondered if anyone had any advice on stopping the progesterone suppositories. I've been told to stop at 12 weeks but seems a bit drastic going from 2 a day to none. Does anyone have any experience or been given any other advice from their clinic? I may just be paranoid but obviously don't want to risk anything. I thought maybe doing 1 a day for a few days after 12 weeks or is that daft? Cycle was a fresh one if that makes any difference at all.

Hello! My clinic told me to stop using these as soon as I had my OTD. To be honest I would have quite liked the safety blanket but one of the other girls on here told me she spoke to her clinic and they said there was no evidence continuing to take them makes any difference. So, if you're clinic are ok with you stopping, I really wouldn't worry!

Your body should be producing the right amount by now. If your clinic says 12 weeks and stop, then that's what's right for you. Mine said 2 weeks only. But they were sure I would be able to maintain a pregnancy on my own.

I was feeling the same as you and my clinic told me to stop at 12 weeks. I didn't do this, I weaned myself of them gradually for the following week and stopped at 13 weeks.

Thanks ladies, I would like to stop taking them already really. I feel pretty bloated and still have sickness, I'm full of progesterone! But I'll keep taking it until the 12 week mark and then maybe just 1 a day for a few days. I'm hoping once 12 weeks comes round things will calm down a bit and baby will be doing well. Fingers crossed xx
