Hey guys, I am looking for some reassurance. I am 12 weeks today and stop all my medication apart from my steriods which I contuine until next Wednesday. I am.so scared stopping progestrone. I have been on 2 x supportries and 1x lubion injection a day. So for me to stop it all together I am worried my baby won't get enough?! Am I being silly? Has anyone just gone cold turkey and stopped? I have my 12 week scan next Monday.... It seems so far away x

Hi NDE1987. Try not to worry about this. Lots of my ladies have the same fears. Why not just use one a day for a week, one every other day for a week, then one twice a week and stop, then you have safely weaned off the drug. You should be producing enough progesterone yourself now, and you will be further reassured when you have your scan next week. See what your midwife says too. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. Diane

Thank you Diane, I appreciate your help. It is just so scary! I don't think I have enough progestrone enough for an additional two weeks, would it be any harm if I just take one every other day until it runs out?.x

Hi. Of course it would be OK. Check with your clinic, but even if you have to stop, no worries. Diane xx

Hi I have just found out I have to stop cold turkey at 11 weeks. I am on 4 x pessary a day and 3 estrogen patches 3x every 48 hours. It scares the hell out of me too!! I don’t think you are being silly but let’s try to trust the doctors - they have got us this far eeeek x

I’m just over 8 weeks. It’s soooo scary. However I can’t wait to stop having to remember every few hours, at work, to rush to the toilet and then try to sit down for a bit lol!! How you feeling otherwise? X

Tbh I get fine! Apart from my boobs hurting I haven't had any symptoms. I did feel nauseous to begin with but that went away. I am excited to stop medication but at the same time scared! It am be good not having to do injections and allow my body just to had rest from medication!! The extra progestrone was leaving me feeling so bloated and consipated. X

I had to stop my progesterone at 12 weeks with no weaning. It’s was scary to do but everything was fine xx

Thank you for your reply! I am happy to know that you didn't wean off medication either. The only medication I have to wean off is the steriods. Just another week left of them! X

My overseas clinic asked me to stop progesterone at 10 weeks but my UK Consultant said to stop completely at 12 weeks which I will do on Saturday. I’m in my 40s and stopped before at 12 weeks and there’s no problem. I’m not worried as I know my body will be producing enough of its own now. Good luck x

Thanks lovely 😊 Good luck to you, it’ll be ok! I promise xxx

My clinic told me it’s possible to stop at eight weeks and they only go to twelve weeks as a precaution. I stopped when they told me and all seems fine... I’m still being sick!

Thanks for your reply hun! Well first day of not taking medication and it was nice not having to clock watching lol. My stomach feels less bloated. Roll on the 12 week scan on Monday. When is it your scan? I am constantly worried as the nurse last time said oh your baby is small but we expect it to be small at this point!!! I don't even know what measurements were meant to be at 8 weeks!! Have you tried ginger biscuits? Xx
