Hi amazing78. I must admit that most of my ladies administer them vaginally, but it is completely your preference. Most of us are used to using tampons, so tend to use the vaginal method. The drug in the pessary is absorbed in the first 20-30 minutes of inserting, so any leakage is just the waxy “stuff” that makes up the pessary. The progesterone is designed to be absorbed by mucus membrane which lines both the vagina and the rectum. Hope all goes well with this and of course fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Diane

The first time I had to use these I did them vaginally and found they were very messy. I had to sleep in knickers and sex was off the table as they certainly don't lubricate! I also got a vaginal cyst which was very painful and I put this down to a little pore or gland getting blocked with the waxy stuff, although my clinic had not heard of this happening before.

This time I've been doing them rectally and my clinic recommended this way. Your choice but I find it much less hassle/mess this way.

Good luck with the ICSI xx

I had trouble with the pessaries causing a lot of itching vaginally! Iam very sensitive to most skin care products. I less mess and itch rectally.

And use a liner And old undies. Otherwise you risk grease stains in your pants.
