Hey, I had to have intramuscular progesterone injections and they were truly horrific for me - I couldn’t walk, sit, lie down or basically do anything without being in a lot of pain!! In my latest coordination appointment for my upcoming FET, the head nurse questioned why I had been put on them for my first fresh cycle as apparently they are used when womb lining isn’t great or you are prone to recurrent miscarriages - of which I had neither. If these don’t apply to you, maybe ask your clinic if you can change to a different type of progesterone. If you’re stuck on them, just try to rest as much as possible - I know how hideous they are!! Sending lots of love xx 💕

Ps I was told to lie down for them and use a heat pad. Also warm the oil in your hand for a bit before the injection xx

Thank you for you reply .

Hey. I was using these for 8 weeks- just stopped them on Saturday after reaching 12 weeks. The evidence for them is not great but I was ok to try them. Aim for the upper, outer quarter of your bottom. I used to warm the vial in my armpit for about 5 mins before drawing it up- longer in this hot weather because I kept them in the fridge.

They make your butt pretty lumpy I’m afraid.

Get your OH to pinch the skin hard and to inject with a dart motion and at 90 degrees to the surface of the skin. My OH then used to massage the injection site for about 2minutes after- just lots of pressure and rubbing (we sang a nursery rhyme!!).

There were some days when it was more painful than others and I remember the first couple of weeks finding it hard to sit in certain positions. Some exercising does help although can sting a little bit.

I don’t miss them at all - we’ll never know if they really helped but we’re happy now with our little one cooking.

Ice packs! They won’t melt and run down your belly. Rub the site afterwards xx

hi, hope so you are doing well. Handle the situation wisely and calmly. All will be fine soon. Don't overthink. Stay positive and happy. Think positive all will be fine sweetheart. My best wishes are with you. My prayers are with you. Keep smiling. Sometimes it is painful but after few days you will be able to go with it. Hoping you get positive news. Don't lose your hope. Nothing is impossible.

Thank you so much 🤗🤗

I couldn’t deal with the pain. I was injecting in my tummy just for 3 days and I could barely move from the cramping. My Consultant switched me to Cyclogest suppositories which are painless and v well absorbed in my system. Ask if you can switch x
