Delayed Period but Not Pregnant...?

Hello, looking for some advice on my issue. We're due to start IVF on Monday, and I'm always very regular to the day on my period starting, but a handful of times, it has been a few days delayed (as it is now) but when I've done a pregnancy test it has come up negative, which it did again today. Does anyone know what's happening when this occurs? Could it be an implantation issue that I have, or am I self diagnosing wrongly?!

Any ideas or suggestions would be really welcome. I'm wondering if I should opt for an end scratch even though there's no actual evidence of implantation issues yet because we've not done IVF before. But don't want to waste the money on IVF if it comes down to implantation.

Thank you

Mx

It's probably just because you're anxiously waiting for it hun. Probably a little stressed whilst feeling more than ready to get going on this new journey/chapter in your life.

I was the same, mine was late. Just hang in there hun. Wishing you lots of luck with the IVF. Xx

Hi, my periods were fine until the 2 cycles before we started ivf then they changed. I think it was due to stress/nerves of what was to come..

What diagnosis have you had? We're unexplained so this time I've had a scratch, intralipid drip and I'm on blood thinners. Anythings worth a go I think!

I had the same thing while waiting to start my first Clomid cycle. I was so stressed out I also developed Shingles and then a kidney infection. My period was over a week late during this time. It really showed me just how big an effect stress can have on the body and I decided to start counselling and reflexology afterwards. Still no BFP, but no Shingles or kidney infections either- which is something. Good luck with the IVF cycle. Xx

Its just how it is - lots of things can cause your period to be a bit late - stress, emotions, exercise.. our bodies are not machines working on a clock. Try not to worry about this and focus on your IVF. Good luck!

Thanks for all your comments and advice, yes I've probably underestimated the stress factor in all this. We have unexplained fertility so if the first IVF doesn't work then I'll be keen to go for anything that can help like the scratch but hadn't heard of intralipid drip and blood thinners. I have a reflexology appointment booked and maybe I should enquire about the counselling.

Thank you again and good luck with your journeys x
