Hi all! Just a quick question, I was meant to start my period on Friday but since then if had dark black blood when I wipe. I really want a proper period this month as I start my ivf next month depending on this cycle. Does anyone know if my gp of clinic cab prescribe me something to kick start this? I don't know why it's not starting properly x

Hi Diane, I was actually going to email you and see if you can please help!! So I had a failed IVF back in December and since then my period has been light, to the point where I could go the whole day without even changing my pad (I wouldn't though!) I did mention it to the nurse at my last appointment but she didn't seem to concerend as I was having 'regular' periods. Before IVF my cycles would last about 4 days with 2 days of heavy bleeding. But now my period is about 2 days of light bleeding. Would this effect my next IVF cycle? As I start to DR this month. I don't want to be stressed but I cant help but worry I am going through early menopause :(

I am 29 years old and my AMH is 8.3, should i get my AMH rested before my next cycle? I was told after my follow up appointment that my egg quality wasn't an issue.

Thanks xxxxx

Hi NDE1987. Try not to worry too much about this, as there's nothing like an IVF cycle to upset your normal menstrual cycle. All should soon return back to what is normal for you. However, even if the light periods continue, remember that with IVF we can regulate you to suit the cycle. Your last AMH was not particularly high, but quite usable. Your FSH level was probably good too. You can get your AMH re-checked if you want, but hopefully it won't be an issue. Obviously mention the "light" periods when you go back, if they are still a problem, as they may prescribe extra progesterone post embryo transfer, to sustain a good level until your "own" takes over. Good luck with it all. Diane
