On going medication and transitioning into NHS care

Hoping someone can give me a little guidance. I’m at 5 weeks 4 days, first BFP after a donor egg cycle in Spain.

The clinic there sent me home with what I thought was sufficient drugs to take me to 12 weeks 400mg cyclogest twice a day and Progyluton 2mg (white pills only) 3 times a day.

I’ve just realised that I’m going to run out of the progyluton at the 9 week mark. I’ve messaged the clinic in Spain to ask for clarification on how long I should be on it for, but I’m worried that it’s going to be difficult getting the NHS to prescribe it should I need it.

First midwife appointment is 23rd April.

Anyone got any tips for transitioning into the NHS and continuity of meds?

If progyluton is estrogen then you usually stop it around then, so you should have enough. At least that was my clinics protocol. But your clinic will confirm. I didn't need any medications from the NHS. Just the aspirin that both my clinic and NHS prescribed due to my age.

Congratulations again and enjoy the next chapter!

Hi Papillonblue, I needed extra cyclogest (as I wanted it to last until end of 12 weeks and my Spanish clinic had only given me until end of 8 weeks) so I asked them to send the prescription to the Fertility Medication Centre who dispensed the meds to my address.

I’m not sure the NHS would cover fertility medications, so do check with your clinic.
