Hi ladies

I wondered whether you had your babies vaccinated at week 8. Why did you go for it and for those that decided against vaccinations, would you mind sharing as to why?

My little boy is 8 weeks tomorrow. He has had the vitamin k injection when he was born and I've had the whopping cough vaccine.

Thank you all in advance xxx

Hi, my little girl just had her 2nd dose of vaccinations. I had the whooping cough vaccine as well, and so grateful i did as the friend who was with me for the birth tested positive for the whooping cough, i was in panic as she's the only person i allowed to hold my baby. Thankfully none of us caught it, i think tue vaccination helped. Vaccinations give me peace of mind to protect my baby.

Can I ask about your induction? I’ve been advised to induce at 39 weeks due to my age but I see you went to 41 weeks?

Hi, sure, what would you like to know?

Did you decide against an early induction?

No, i didn't, it was my doctors decision and i was happy with it. He was on holiday the week before, im pretty sure if he wasn't he would have induced at 40 weeks. But this was in Belgium, maybe they do things differently.

Sorry I don’t mean to sound rude, but I am not an idiot!

Hi lovely my son is 1 yr old had all his injections up to now i would not miss his injections as it’s not worth your child getting anything that could make them seriously not well . The most they get off the injections is a temp which you just give calpol for a day and there fine . Xx

Absolutely, You are not only protecting your baby but all the other babies and children around you, especially those who can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons 🤗 my little boy is 3.5 now and just had his last ones a few weeks ago which we called his ‘super powers’.

The rise of some of the infections that were almost eradicated in the UK is such a worry with misinformation being spread about vaccines 😢 speak to anyone in the 70+ generation and they will tell you how incredibly lucky we are to have them as many of them will have known people who were very ill with life changing permanent issues as a result of some of these diseases or didn’t make it. So that’s why I didn’t think twice about it 🤗 xx

I had my son vaccinated at 8 weeks as I don’t think it’s worth the risk of not getting it.

I caught whooping cough during my pregnancy and was ill for 4 months as I couldn’t take the antibiotics. I wouldn’t want my son to feel that bad for so long when it is preventable. Plus, like one of the other contributors mentioned, I was acutely conscious of the fact that my choice could impact another child if I chose not to vaccinate. I think I am more a tune to that because My little boy was premature and was in neonatal intensive care for 2 weeks when he was born. I had a friend that was going to pop up to meet him with ‘just a little sniffle’. Which I politely declined. Seeing all those babies hooking up to machines really brought home to me how fragile babies are, and I didn’t want to be responsible for making one of them sick when they were already fighting.

I’ve vaccinated both my babies, it protects them and is essential from all the info I’ve read. It took us years to have our children and I wouldn’t want to put them at risk not protecting them from known viruses.

the 8 week ones are the most important as they are so vulnerable then.

We got our 8 week ones done and they were fine - gave some calpol and all good.

we actually chose to delay the subsequent ones just so they were a bit spread out. So my baby rather than 2,3 and 4 months had his at 2,4 and 6 months. My sister is in Ireland and this is when they do them then so I knew it would be ok.

That said all my friend’s babies got them at 2,3 and 4 months and were fine.

ours are booked in for next week - I wouldn’t like to chance him not being vaccinated x

same, I had both my babies vaccinated and felt like it was the best way I could protect them. I also had whooping cough vaccine during pregnancy but the vaccine tops that up too x
