Inconsistent movements 30 weeks

Hello everyone. Another day, another anxiety. I had felt like baby had gotten into a fairly predictable pattern of movement but now seems like he's back to doing what he wants! He used to be set off by eating breakfast but now not so much and this morning I hardly felt him move at all until lunch time. Anyone else finding the pattern going off? I have been to triage today and monitoring was all fine. Of course will go back if I am worried again but just wanted to see if anyone had experienced change in movement patterns as pregnancy went on? This pregnancy is just constant anxiety!

I feel you! I seem to have one day a week where she changes pattern completely. Last week she was super active in the morning and this week I've barely felt her till after lunch. I think the movements have changed quite a lot as she has got bigger and more squished too. It is less like a jab or poke now, more just a light movement. I've been working on the basis that as long as I feel her at some point during the day then hopefully all is ok. Such a source of anxiety though!

Yes definitely feeling of movement has changed! Doesn't feel so much like kicks now (except he somehow seems to jab me in the bladder occasionally 😅) but more of shifting movement. Glad to hear that you have some differences in pattern too. Hope your pregnancy is otherwise going well!

It's so odd. Sometimes I can see my belly moving but the actual feeling of movement isn't that strong, so I think I must miss a lot of the movement when I'm busy and out. Definitely very different to a few weeks ago when I was being jabbed and kicked! Aside from the constant anxiety everything is going well thanks! How about you? It all seems very real now we've got to the 30 week mark!

Yeah I feel like that about night time. I keep reading about people being kept awake by movement but I don't feel him at night unless I am otherwise awake and even then not always. Yes definitely feeling more real now. We've started antenatal classes and suddenly realised that there is quite a lot that I've not been thinking about (probably on purpose my brain not letting me!).

We are due to start classes in a couple of weeks. I think I've done the same, I'm going to be in for a real shock in a few weeks time! I also don't feel much at nighttime anymore. She was super jabby for a bit but now I only really feel her if I'm awake and focusing on it!

hello, I am exactly the same I’m 36 weeks and honestly there’s no pattern at all some mornings they are jumping about next day it’s evening then the next it’s during the night. If I’ve not felt them for a bit I will lie down relax and just give my belly a wee rub or have a bath it seems to like that. But I definately have no pattern at all xxx

Thanks. It's just weird because he was in a pattern I thought! I can sometimes set him off with some juice or lying on my side though. Not tried the bath!

I had no pattern throughout my whole pregnancy… I ended up going to MAU if I hadn’t felt anything for a couple of hours. I had an anterior placenta so not sure if that made a difference to the pattern.

It’s super anxiety-inducing so definitely go to get checked out if you’re worried at any point… even if it’s to put your mind at ease :)

Thanks. I don't think I have an anterior placenta! I think I will just have to go in as much as needed to make myself feel better. They said they would arrange a scan if I had another episode, though I have a scan already booked in next week!

HeyJust wanted to say that I havent had much of a regular pattern except consistently after lunch I'd feel a lump or bump but that would be it!

Also the movement definitelychanged over time for me. Turned into a swooshing almost like I had a fish swimming in my belly feeling and my OH couldnt feel it at all but then from about 33/34 weeks then back to full on jabs and solid lumps on my belly which is an elbow or bum! It's good to get checked out if you are nervous but I also found it changed over time!

😊 take care x

I had no consistent movements either. Any kind of app that counted kicks I found really anxiety inducing so couldn't use it.

During my first pregnancy it was worse as my placenta was forward facing.

Good you are getting it checked out when you are worried.

I used to lie down quietly and have a freezing cold glass of water and this usually made him move and reassure me a bit.

I went into the hospital a few times for reassurance.

Both babies were born fine and healthy and moving like mad since!

X
