Hi I’m just wondering if anyone could share their experiences of a complete placenta previa. I am now 22 weeks pregnant following my third embryo transfer.. it has been a whirlwind of emotions and absolute rollercoaster of anxiety, and then at my 20 week scan I was informed I have a complete placenta previa and the consultant said there’s a “very slim chance” that it will move, as some do as the baby and womb grow.
So to expect an elective C-section. Which is fine I’m not worried about that, but it’s between now and then. Advised no lifting, strenuous activity including sex due to high risk of bleeding and pre-term labour. So of course I’m on edge constantly.
But my main question is how did you feel? Like I don’t know what’s normal and what’s not, I feel like a heavy pressure on my lower abdomen, worse if I’ve been on my feet for a few hours at work, is this because my placenta is literally sitting on my cervix? I haven’t experienced any bleeding upto now, annd hopefully not.
What have I to expect in the coming weeks, few months.
If anyone has experienced similar?
Thank you 🫶🏼

Hope you get some replies to your post The positive point is your doctor/midwife are aware of the situation and you will be carefully monitored and still a chance the placenta will move as pregnancy continues Might be an idea to speak to your midwife about your discomfort
Hi, I am in the same boat as you, I'm currently 34 weeks and expect to have a c sections after 37 weeks avoiding the risk associated with spontaneous labor. I have been told that after 32 weeks the placenta is very unlikely to move.
In terms of how it feels, definitely heavier than my first pregnancy and my bump comes to a point at the bottom which i wonder if that's the placenta.
Take it easy, I had 2 instances of bleeding in my 2nd trimester.
I had a complete placenta previa with my twin pregnancy and was offered the same advice as you have been. I was fine, I listened to the advice, rested when I could and didn’t do anything too strenuous. I found I struggled to walk too far as well before I got back pain and felt that heavy pressure down below.
I had one bleed at 32 weeks and was monitored, all was fine. I had a transfusion ready for birth (c-section) and I actually didn’t need it!!
Try not to worry. If you have a bleed, seek attention and hopefully you’ll be absolutely fine.
