Im 23 weeks pregnant following a FET and at my 20 week anamoly scan I was told I have a low lying placenta. Shortly after I had heavy bleeding and was admitted into hospital. My cervix was still closed so they’ve just monitored me and baby to make sure things were fine and discharged me. They’ve said I can expect to get more bleeding and each time just to come in. While I was being admitted the doctor suggested the bleeding could be a late miscarriage which upset us alot. We have had a late stillbirth previously so hoping this pregnancy would give us our rainbow.
Im just looking for any positive stories for anyone who has had placenta previa?

Haven’t experienced this personally but recently had a c-section and the person in the bed next to me had this exact situation. Bleeding on and off throughout pregnancy but had a lovely baby boy delivered via c-section.
My biggest advice is make the most of your triage unit at the hospital. If anything doesn’t feel right at any point go straight to them for monitoring and reassurance.
Thank you for this! Congratulations for your little one - hope you are recovering well from the c-section.
I’ve been a few times already but yeah they did reiterate, whatever the worry to call up and come in. Having had the previous loss I feel like I was overthinking everything but now if its got me worried I just call them up even if it is for reassurance.
You're still early and low lying placenta is extremely common at the 20 week scan. 90% of the time it moves by the third trimester or at least before birth. I had this on my first pregnancy and it was miles out of the way by the next scan. However the second one unfortunately was complete placenta previa (as in covering the cervix completely) and posterior placenta which apparently is less likely to move than anterior - did they say whether it was anterior or posterior? It's really rare that it doesn't move so don't worry and it's possible the bleeding is being caused by something else. However placenta previa does often come with bleeding, in fact I think it normally does. And you have to keep an eye on it as it can cause complications (it did for me) and if it doesn't move it will require a c-section. Hopefully you're being monitored but feel free to DM me as I've just spent the best part of 6 weeks in hospital experiencing this and am well versed in all things placenta previa!
Hello, I had grade four placenta previa with my twin pregnancy, which means one of the babies placentas was totally covering my cervix at my 20 week scan and I was told it was unlikely to move. It never did move and I knew from very early on that I’d be having a c-section and all precautions taken to minimise the risk of bleeding. I’m sure the doctor has given you advice but I was told to stay away from heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, sex and expect light bleeding to always be checked out. I was lucky that I didn’t actually experience much bleeding given I was told I was but I was closely monitored and hopefully you will be to. My twins arrived safely.
Sending you lots of luck and positive vibes. Take it easy and always ask if you’re unsure or worried about anything. Xxx
hi , I have exactly the same however as I’m only 13 weeks they aren’t really looking into it too much untill my 20 week scan . I had a heavy bleed at only 11 weeks so I’m so nervous for this pregnancy now . No advice but just wanted you to know you aren’t alone ❤️ xxx
