Hi everyone. Been awake since 630am again with worry, I need your sensible heads! π¨ποΈβ οΈ
Long long story short I'm 6 weeks pregnant today (supposedly π€―) and I feel no symptoms at all and haven't the entire time.
The only thing is mild-ish but noticeable period type cramping (had a couple of more intense, short lived cramps) which I get on and off every day (constant knicker watch), a little constipation and thirsty in the mornings, I have clear watery discharge at times (what's that, have i wet myself!?!?!) and boobs only tender if I REALLY squeeze them. I'm taking crinone and steroids even though it was a (massive wonderful surprise!) natural pregnancy (Drs orders) and not even the progesterone is doing anything (though it's probably responsible for the wet feeling as it usually does that to me and the cramps).
Google says extreme exhaustion, nausea, food aversions and sore boobs all common around now. I haven't a hint. I feel fine!
I've seen no progression in my symptoms at all. I am just terrified that it's not progressing and it's a sign that the hcg isn't rising. (157 > 461 over 2 days, at just over 4 weeks, dr was happy it almost tripled).
I'd hoped by this stage I'd have experienced some symptoms to put my mind at ease. My gut instinct is telling me something isn't right. I'm worried the crinone is holding back my period or stopping something bad happening.
I promised myself I wouldn't test again or do more hcg as that would make me anxious but turns out not doing them has driven me mental! I've an early scan booked for Thursday, I think I would be about 6wks 4 days. I'm so scared of it. The TWW is nothing compared to this. How can waiting for this scan take 17 business years??????
Can anyone reassure me that no symptoms can be OK at this stage? I'm driving myself round the bend. Should I prepare myself for bad news?
43 years of age, 8 years of infertility, 3 in intense IVF, 5 failed transfers, a chemical and the battle scars are deep. Its so hard to be positive. I'm probably just trying to prepare myself for bad news.
But let's try and end it on a positive anyway.......
β€οΈ I've no bleeding or spotting π€πΌ
π I feel good
π This is the furthest I've ever got
ππΌ I can't change the outcome
ποΈ I've got all you to help me through
Love Joey xx

Hi joey.Could have and probably have in different post written this over the last 2 weeks.
I'm now 7 weeks. Have the standard weeing/ thirsty that I always get with meds. But no sore boobs no nausea no headaches blah blah. I had a scamn 6 weeks 2 days saw HB but now have nothing until the 24th.. meanwhile I continue to check and check myself for symptons to pray this baby is staying. Like you the scars are deep and ingrained the anxiety and fear of loss is not good for my brain and the running I do for this I can't do... so my tool to manage is gone. It's an absolute mind melt. People around me are like relax and enjoy the ride. They have no idea the damage infertility does sat there with their easy conceived children.
Keep in touch let me know how you can get on this week. Xx
Thank you for replying! It's horrible isn't it. So so pleased you had a good scan, I can imagine the relief.
Ivf sucks any innocent positivity right out of you doesn't it. There's no way I can relax and enjoy, I am a mess lol typical my only real symptom is cramping. Why couldn't it just have been something more positive like vomiting lolol
Time goes so slowly doesn't it!! 10 days seems like forever till your next scan doesn't it but I honestly never thought I'd make it to 6 weeks and here I am.
And sending boats loads back to you. 10dats may aswell be 10yrs lol. The others use I'm trying to look at is once you hear HB miscarriage drops to 10% so 90% success. Those are hood odds but still my brains not competing that. Xx much love and luck to you and your bean.
Just so you know with my first pregnancy I had absolutely zero symptoms. Only when I had my 12 week scan I believed it. Like you I was expecting a deluge of symptoms especially as my sisters had such bad morning sickness. Iβm glad you have a scan booked soon for reassurance. I have finally had a successful round of ivf too and am experiencing no symptoms except fatigue again.
Hope this reassures you that not everyone has symptoms. Good luck with the scan on Thursday xxx
Oh congrats on your 2nd babe. Yes I won't believe anything till I see it. If it wasn't for that tripling hcg I wouldn't even consider that I'm pregnant. Even saying that feels like I'm a fraud!
Thanks for the reassurance about symptoms. I pray you're right xx
Hi Joey, I can totally relate 42 and currently at 21 weeks today after a long journey TTC. You are right the TWW is nothing compared to this bit my anxiety was through the roof I found work a helpful distraction and each time I got a positive result test or hcg I was better but for all of 5 mins sometimes before I started worrying again. What I can say is having few or no symptoms so early isn't really indicative of anything. I didn't get implantation bleed or cramps or much in the way of symptoms taking progesterone but I did get bouts of low blood pressure and dizzy spells a couple times around the 6/7 week period. I was actually initially pregnant with twins and sadly lost one but I tell you this to reassure you that early symptoms are different for everyone. Later I got symptoms in abundance which I must say is reassuring but the extreme fatigue etc didn't kick in until a bit later for me around week 9. Do what you can to cope with this difficult time and know Google is not your friend. Wishing you the best for your 7 week scan! Rooting for you π€πβ¨
Thank you so much for the reply. Maybe I'm just in an overthinking spiral.....who am I kidding, I'm knee deep in overthinking. I just don't feel like I could be this lucky xxx
Google is NOT my friend and ive limited myself today to 5 mins of browsing at a time. No matter how much I search, I don't feel reassured so what's the point!
Congratulations on your pregnancy and sorry to hear about the 2nd little bean. The whole process is so tough xx
I promise you on my successful pregnancy I had absolutely no symptoms until I started feeling round ligament pain at about 14 weeks - I felt TOTALLY normal. Every single scan (I had a lot) I was completely convinced that there would be nothing there and it would all be some cruel trick. But heβs here and heβs 2 years old. It can absolutely happen like this. Especially if you are on steroids as they can really mask the symptoms.
Have every single finger and toe crossed for you xxxx
It's so hard babe! I was actually trawling through your posts as I remembered you saying you'd no symptoms. Thanks for all your support, even though you've had a terribly tough time. You and the other ladies on this forum are real life angels.
I can also relate. After having all the side effects under the sun with the IVF drugs and all the period pain and PMT for 20 odd years before that, I was preparing myself that when and if I finally got pregnant I'd be an absolute state. I have had very little symptom-wise. Some cramping the first 2-3 weeks. Light spotting at weeks 7 and 10 (on the dot) and now, at 10w3d I'm finally feeling tired (but not 'extreme exhaustion' by any stretch of the imagination!). I've had two scans, and the last one showed a little foetus wiggling its hands and legs. So all is good. Keep focusing on the fact you have no reason to believe anything but good news. Congratulations and good luck!
Oh that's amazing news for you willowpark. Honestly amazing. Thanks so much for sharing that with me. Pray to goodness that it's just how my body is processing it. Cramping today but it's low level so we will just have to wait xx
I had very little symptoms during my first pregnancy too, and they only started showing up later in the first trimester. It's so tough not knowing, but your positive signs are encouraging. Sending you lots of strength and good vibes for your scan on Thursday. x
having absolutely no symptoms at all myself (5+3 currently) despite being on 2 pessaries and lubion my boobs arenβt even the slightest bit sore, I have googled the hell out of this and it does seem to be a thing and fairly common! Good luck for your scan lovely at this stage it should tell you more than HCG anyways. I will be waiting for your update π xx
Please don't worry about major symptoms. They may come in the following weeks. I had no symptoms one pregnancy and the other they came om much later and I felt them. Once you are not bleeding ir spotting this is a great sign. I know it can be agonising but you will very fine. I have been there. I heard some spotty can be okay also as my sister experienced this in early pregnancy Once but if anything like that happens do get checked out. It seems to be a wait game until the next appointment for us women. I understand this completely 100 percent for whatever each of us is going through in pregnancy. I feel this will be a good outcome for you. Trust your body and try to know that feeling good is a good sign. Xx
Hi, please don't stress about the symptoms.. The steroids do mask them. I've had 4 pregnancies on steroids and had symptoms every time..sore boobs, constipation...They all ended in miscarriage.. This is my 5th pregnancy and had no symptoms at all until about week 10 when I started to feel tired. It's so hard but please try to relax and let your body do it's thing. I say this but I know how difficult it is as the anxiety is so bad especially after failures and losses. Try and keep yourself busy. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you and hoping and praying for a good scan xx
hi lovely - firstly congratulations! Secondly I was exactly the same. Then I found out that steroids masks a lot of pregnancy symptoms! I see you are also on steroids so itβs probably that ! That said I know people that had no symptoms not on steroids and everything was still fine.
Steroids mask sickness and pain and can make you more energised which masks tiredness.
When I eventually came off steroids I felt sick for the rest of my pregnancy and had loads of food aversions π
